The problem isn't his free speech, I don't care if he believes in the Easter bunny.......the problem is he's taking his customers money and donating it to right wing, anti gay groups, whose agenda is to discriminate against gay Americans. By the way, a new poll released yesterday said 23% of Americans will no longer eat at Chick-Fil-A.......that includes me and my family. I don't know too many companies that suddenly lose 23% of their business, and it not hurt. A smart company, would keep politics, and religion completely out of their business......if not.......be prepared to pay the price.
How many more people WILL eat there now? Did you even consider that?
BTW, I buy from starbucks, Ben and Jerry's, Apple.. I dont GAFF what they do with their money.

Panera bread, got one on the silly side of the street here, impossible to get in/out of there without wasting a gallon of gas....so we have never been there, bread is a convenience item in the grocery store, it's either 'raw' or toast, comes in 3 colors, white/yellow/brown.....takes your choice, I eat anything, but prefer wheat/brown.....wife prefers white library paste.....
Some Vette related friends and me setting around Wed AM and talking and this came up, we just laughing out asses off, they all my age group, 68, working stiffs and you can imagine what was said.....and the guy who's driveway we setting in, his burb is heavy with gay types, I found that strange because the issue has NEVER been raised in the 15 years I been here, and sure enough, wife substantiated it, she being a native to Jax Fl......I"m an import....and never had a reason to 'track' such things.....
Chick Fil A is a big winner in this. They were a niche fast food player, and now are a national household name. Longterm they will pick up more customers than they lose.
This never should have been a story in the first place. I happen to have a completely different viewpoint on the subject of gay marriage than the CEO (I support civil unions and think the Christian obsession with homos is ridiculous), but his comments were not anti-gay. At least not enough to cause an uproar over. This story was a huge backfire against gays.
I think the whole episode is sort of laughable, but I am hoping for a bit of anti-Obama political fallout.
Hate to break it to you, but Christians do not have an obsession with homosexuals. Truth is the subject is rarely brought up. Not too many homosexuals coming to the Church Spring picnic you know.
The whole "Christians are obsessed with gays" is just a stereotype created by the gay community to portray themselves as victims and win the sympathy vote. It's basically an Alinski technique in creating an enemy/oppressor to further their political agenda. Which is really how this whole thing started. The support of Chick Fil A is just a backlash against a bully agenda.
