Nugent Ousted From Ft Knox Concert Line-Up
Ted Nugent has been booted from the line-up at an annual Fort Knox summer concert following his recent comments about President Barack Obama, a Fort Knox representative confirmed to The Blaze.
The decision to oust Nugent came after “recent disparaging remarks made against the commander in chief,” Ryan Brus of the Fort Knox public affairs office said.
Because the concert is taking place on a military installation, it “would be a conflict of interest since the military has the obligation to be apolitical,” he said.
Brus said they don‘t look at political or social views when booking performers but that Nugent’s comments about the commander in chief crossed the line.
Brus said Major General Jefforey Smith, commanding general at Fort Knox, made the final decision to cancel Nugent’s appearance.
Nugent was scheduled to be the June 23 concert’s opening act, according to the Louisville, Ky. Courier-Journal. Co-headliners REO Speedwagon and Styx remain scheduled to perform, according to a listing for the event on the Fort Knox Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation website. The site says a “special guest” will be featured as well.
Brus said they are working on finding a replacement for Nugent.

Uhhhh..isn't the very fact that he was booted from the lineup for his political comments anything BUT apolitical?
I guess MG Smith doesn't feel a civilian voicing their opinion within their first amendment rights is cool. What happened to upholding the Constitution?

Why was he even booked in the first place? Ted has been a very political activist for at least twenty years.
Other than the lyrics to his songs, extreme right wing rhetoric has been the only thing that's come out of his mouth. He's probably more famous for politics than music these days, as the best of his work was at least 20 years ago.
In all honesty, this recent statement doesn't really stand out in the context of most of his other statements, it's about a 6 out of 10.
My guess is that they don't want the inevitable flood of viral videos of servicemen cheering out loud in response to whatever comments he makes during the show.
Oh, and by the way the all American Poster boy for the extreme right seems to think he does not have to follow the rules no matter where he goes!

(NEWSER) – More gun fun with the Motor City Madman. Ted Nugent has agreed to a $10,000 fine for illegally shooting and transporting a black bear in Alaska in 2009, according to a plea he signed with prosecutors there, reports the Anchorage Daily News. In addition to the fine, Nugent will produce public service messages to air on his television program, Spirit of the Wild, be banned from hunting in Alaska or on any US Forest Service land for one year, and be placed on probation for two years.
At the same time, the NRA deleted archived video footage of Nugent's comments from their web site and YouTube page. The NRA did keep up other footage, such as convicted criminal Oliver North's speech.

Bingo
It was the fear of him saying something there and getting a stand ovation. We wouldn't RK's melonhead to explode over that .. now would we?
Sure they find some Black bleed heart liberals to fill in. Make
note all sane people need not attend. All white liberals can
set up an **** kissing and licking booth
What needed to say
The decision to oust Nugent came after “recent Truthful remarks made against the Turd in chief,”
That this concert would not be fitting for a true american.

Wow, I heard he got nailed for poaching but not the details. Thanks for posting that. That's nuts. He's from Michigan too, we have no such law here. I never even heard of such a law before
Hunting laws are more convoluted than the firearm laws. Not only does every state have different regulations, it's every county, and sometimes even little zones within counties that have special regulations. There are things I quit hunting, and others that I never even tried to hunt because the regulations are impossible to keep up with, they change from season to seasonr, and zone to zone. It's rediculous, without a GPS and a computer you have no idea if you're breaking a conservation law half the time. I won't contribute my money toward a license to fund that kind of stupidity
