Default Obama's Muslim quote

very true quote from Obama

"I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction," says Obama".

The actual quote from the book is from page 261 and is as follows: "Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific reassurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

Pretty scary, coming from a U.S. Senator running for President of the United States.

... we can’t forget this quote from Obama’s book Audacity of Hope

“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”

Whatever did he mean by that?

Obama is not legally African-American as he claims but Arab-American and Islam still considers him to be a Muslim. Surely Americans are entitled to take this into account when they are voting for the next President of America.

And lets forget Debbie Schlussel’s exclusive Obama’s Nation of Islam Staffers, Edward Said & “Inflexible Jews” Causing Mid-East Conflict: An Obama Insider Reveals the Real Barack

Dave your support of an anti-American friend to terrorists is pathetic There is nothing that could come out, no matter how blatant, no matter how obvious, no matter how anti-American, you would still ask the same thing. Why? Who are you trying to convince that Obama isn't a danger to this country? Yourself? It's too late to convince me. It's too late to pretend that your emperor has a stitch of clothing on. If you are seeking approval for your ill-advised judgement I'm afraid I can't help you.

On February 27th, 2007 Barack Hussein Obama said the Muslim call to prayer is "one of the prettiest sounds on Earth."

In an interview with Nicholas Kristof, published in The New York Times, Obama recited the Muslim call to prayer, the Adhan, "with a first-class [Arabic] accent."

The opening lines of the Adhan (Azaan) is the Shahada:
"Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
Allah is Supreme! Allah is Supreme!
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that there is no god but Allah
I witness that Muhammad is his prophet... "

According to Islamic scholars, reciting the Shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith, makes one a Muslim. This simple yet profound statement expresses a Muslim's complete acceptance of, and total commitment to, the message of Islam.

Obama knows this from his Quranic studies -- and he knows the New York Times will publish this fact and it will be seen throughout the world

Quote from Barack Obama's book, Dreams Of My Father:
In Indonesia, I had spent two years at a Muslim school"
"I studied the Koran.."
"The person who made me proudest of all, though, was [half brother] Roy .. He converted to Islam."
From 'The Audacity Of Hope, "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
From Dreams... AND I QUOTE " The only way for the white man to reconcile with the black man is for us to become brothers in Islam."

From Dreams of My Father, " I FOUND A SOLICE IN NURSING A PERVASIVE SENS...

What his religious beliefs are really don't concern me. What does concern me is the influence those beliefs and his acquaintances have had, and how I perceive he arrives at positions. Whatever his collection of experiences, he does not exhibit the traits I'm looking for in a leader.

Now, will that fact get thru the six inches between your ears....?

I'm not holding my breath but, ya never know......

Reagan held talks with Russia, they had real WMD. If Reagan wasn't afraid, you shouldn't be.....

Sounds scary until put in context of the larger quote, at which point it becomes sensible.

And? He was commenting on the aesthetic quality of the prayer, as one would a song.

I'm not an Obama supporter, and I very much hope he loses the general election, but your bashing is ignorant. Reaching so hard for criticism suggests desperation born of a lack of legitimate argument. There is plenty to criticize about Obama and his politics, so why bother with such nonsense?

No, of course the quote is true. But what are you inferring from it? There is nothing un-American about his quote, I don't see what the issue is? All men are created equal and thereby should be treated equally regardless of their religion. What are you trying to insinuate is what me and probably ever other person that read this thread are taking issue with?

I'd suggest a remedial English class, if you can't understand the statement without trying to make it something it isn't...

Sad, really.

In another thread I (and several right-leaning folks) took some liberals to task for intentionally omitting part of a quote from McCain. Now in this thread some want to intentionally omit part of a quote from Obama.

There are plenty of reasons not to vote for Obama. His quotes in this thread are not among them, though.
