A10Pilot,
I was at Columbus, 87-04..dropped a C-141 to McGuire ( I live in New Jersey, so it was my first choice) flew 141’s and C-17’s until 2014. 28 years.
would have loved to fly the Hog, my class was only awarded 2 fighters , An F-4 and an A-10, the rest of us got heavies or FAIP’s . Started in a class of 54 studs, graduated 24..we were all happy just to survive. Looks like you were Guard at Barnes.

guys wanting heavies being FAIP'ed , First Assignment Instructor Pilot for those following along. Timing is everything! I was there for 21 years always mission ready in the A-10. One of my girls married a guy from Dennisville, NJ and is vacationing in Avalon today. Beautiful beaches!
P.S. Landed at McGuire once when part of the leading edge of my right wing came off while pulling out of a dive bomb pass at Warren Grove. Closest I ever came to getting out but I was able to recover at about 300 ft and limped into McGuire. Nice to talk to you brother !

Amateur photographer is still above my pay grade. Took these earlier today, the "farmer's air force" doing "spray & go's".

This accident was reviewed in flight training and maintenance training at Flight Safety, Wilmington, De. for years. Probably because some of our instructors were AF Guard pilots and Mechanics at Dover AF Base. As one of my sim instructors, (former AF pilot), said " this is the worst cockpit management cluster fk of all time " Senior aircraft commander, Instructor pilot and the Sqd Commander, all on the flight deck. Routine flight, Dover - Ramstein , reverse onlock light comes on over Sea Isle NJ. Standard procedure shut down the engine with the light, just in case of deployment and return to base. Right decision. Shut down # 2, then someone retarded #3 ??, and the pilot flying continued to use the power lever for #2 ,the dead eng. and not the still running #3 . Checklists were not completed or responded to incorrectly. The pilot flying decided to fly seat of the pants visual for the approach instead of electronic guidance. Result way low on approach. The final fk up that finished them off was the pilot flying called for full flaps full ( 100 %) instead of flaps 40, ( 40%) that would allow them to make a normal approach under these conditions. Too low, over weight, not using available engine power, wrong flap setting , stall bang crash. No fatalities.

I've taken some pics over the years...hard to really frame and set up shots like you would a car or smaller object...lol...kinda just have to conform to the air show or base you're on. Have tons of photos obviously...just threw a few in here that are interesting

One from work a few years ago at sunrise. PHX Airport.
Also a few years ago at a car show. Had to snap this one quick before they kicked me out. Sentimental Journey B-17 & Grape.
