I made this pass last Sunday at HRP. My first time at a 1/4 mile with new 3.90 gears. The car launched good before with the 3.42s, but it's another level with the 3.90s. Here's the slip specifics:
60ft... 1.512
330.... 4.618
1/8.... 7.182
mph... 94.32
1000.. 9.412
1/4....11.281
mph... 121.22
I released about 6200rpms and lifted the shifts. Here's a vid of the run:

click the BM-HRP-050116 file
this is an '02 Z06 with rpm grind #4 cam, stock heads with dual springs, stock ls6 intake, haltech air intake, stainless works lt's, dr gas 3" xpipe with high flow cats, borla stinger catback, 3.90 gears. Buzzed the 1-2 pretty hard (it comes on fast with the 3.90s!) Drove the car from DFW to Houston and back getting about 30.0mpg, even with the gear swap.

Holy crap! That's awesome. Excellent. How do you think you will do with emissions with that cam? I want one.

thanks guys
the wheel setup is ccw rims with et streets in rear and bfg skinnies up front
as far as a sniff test, I have no idea if it would pass. Probably not. But in Texas, as long as you have cats and the computer is not pulling codes, no sniff test is required for 97 or newer (I think 97+). So, no worries for me as long as the computer stays happy.

I would be curious to see what your car Dyno'ed as well .. I have a Cartek 3x with everything , and have only 2 MPH on you with the same QM times. Great driving .. Congrats
How about someone who knows how to drive meets me up at NE dragway in the spring , you get the keys and I would like a 10 second time slip in return .. Because I can't do it ... The fisrt step is admitting you have a problem , yep I can't do it.

That launch was at 6200. About 15psi in the et streets. Shift light was at 6600.
In all honesty, I doubt my car dynos much over 400 sae, if over 400 at all. I was at 408 sae before the 3.90 gear switch, so I'm guessing it would lose some on the rollers at present.

What clutch are you using? Is the drivetrain beefed up at all?
I 'd really be afraid to drop the clutch @ 6200 rpm with sticky tires in my Z... granted I have at least a couple hundered rwhp on you, but I'm still afraid to launch the car hard after reading all the ka-boom stories.

I'm running a mcleod dual disk, hardened right (long) shaft, and the RPM irs brace. The tq tube, halfshafts and T56 are bonestock.
I've always tried to run a little more pressure in the et streets than most "experts" tell me to do. I'm usually in the 15-17 psi range. I'd rather the car spin out of the hole slightly, than straight dead hook. As you can see from the vid, thats exactly what happened and I still "managed" a 1.51 short time.
I've drag raced the car for three+ years and have never broke a driveline part, always drove home from the track under my own power. I did replace the stock clutch with the mcleod about 2 years ago, but that was to be expected. The mcleod has held up flawlessly and shows no signs of letting up.
