New Personal Best today....... 10.75 @ 130... On 17" ET Streets.
well i can now wear my avitar with pride...LOL this was the first time to the track this year and first time on the 17" ET Streets. The track was not prepped well at all and only a few of the big cars were hooking. But i managed a 1.65 short which is the best the car has seen with a 10.75 @ 130 MPH on spray. The car lost 5 mph on motor and spray from last year so once i get that worked out and learn how to launch the car better i should see some pretty low 10 sec passes this year.. There were a few guys who thought i was spraying with my 11.50 at 118 NA pass.... even the announcer thought it was on spray.... until the next pass!! MAN IT FELT GREAT!! Its always cool to outrun most of the trailered in "race" cars and drive home with the AC going getting 30MPG at 80mph.... I LOVE THIS CAR!!

Are you shifting around 6000 when you're spraying? If not that should help your times.

I have heard that BYRON blows away the GROVE and the GROVE Sucks and is a lil dangerous, etc. I would bolt in a nice WOLF ROLLBAR and take that bad boy to ROUTE 66 (fastest track in the U.S.) where you will propably run 10.4s as they now have fully prepped the track since the recent NHRA NATIONALS two weeks ago!!! Test and tune at RT 66 every TUES NITE!!!!

Actually, The Grove, GLD has come a long ways. repaved lanes and return roads, repaved pits, improved. Serious money spent on upgrades.
When they put down the VHT, the track can be quick.
I know Thursday are generally for RSD, real street drags. Clocks off and cars run other cars with a flag man and spots marked off. very popular but not if you are pursuing ET's.
here is a link. Check their schedule: http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/
This is not a plug for GLD. I have been to friendlier places but this is close for me. I think Byron is a great place to run with very friendly staff.

hmmmm.... i have thougth about RT 66 but they are an NHRA track and even on motor i will get kicked off... i would hate to drive all the way there and make one pass... i have thought about it though.... I was there on Friday when the records in Funny Car were broken... the track is super prepped now with all that rubber and VHT..... I think i am going to do it... fresh bottle and make a single pass and hope for the best... i don't want to do a roll cage in the car as i have a camaro "race car" already. this is my daily driver.. its too much of a hassle to bolt in and unbolt a rollbar when i want to go to the track.
i feel NHRA rules need ot be updated a bit for the newer cars... doesn't make sense that my car as it sits with a harness bar can tech 168 MPH and qualify for the 150MPH class at the big Bend road race but anything faster than 11 seconds requires a 6pt cage, and where i am at now i need a 10 point, on off switch, window net, Driveshaft loops and a parachute (for speeds faster than 135MPH isn't it?) i do understand its all in the name of safety.. but we are not driving a 20+ year old car without the quality of components, braking capabilities as well as the structural integrity our cars are built with today.
When in BG last weekend ... hey where is my Cruise in Tag anyway...LOL i saw a few Z06's on the assembly line... the factory "roll bar" is better than most weld in offerings!!! either way happiness is knowing you have 9 second MPH with 10 sec times in a daily driven car thats not a race car!! with about 10K in total mods including wheels and tires!! I will probalby cage the car when i do the turbo motor after i take delivery of my new 06 Z06!!!

If you are making 600+ rwhp, you have the power to run 9s with the right setup. Get some 16" slicks. Spraying out of the hole should net sub 1.50 60 foot times.
