Default New best with bolt on C5

Made it out to the track for the opener. air was good but it turned into a total zoo. here are the specs and the run.

1999 C5 A4
M/T 245/40/18 drag radials
Texas speed long tubes and off road x
Fast 92. 90mm ls2 TB
Vararam intake
Circle D 3600 stall
4.10 gears
Dyno tuned by LMR
GTO spares

Royal purple raceway
DA -610

60' 1.550
330' 4.678
1/8 7.313
Mph 93.32
1000' 9598
E/t 11.523
Mph 116.44

Tried stalling the car all the way to roll and started spinning.
Looks like that was my one shot at a good slip for the year.
Time to get dialed in for foot brake and good RTs.
Ran a 11.73 at +250 DA so not sure how much of the gain was from the GTO spares and how much was the DA.

Congratuations! Very nice run. I would suspect the air helped a lot. We picked up 0.15 in the fall going from about 1000' DA to well below sea level at Crandall's Thanksgiving race. That MPH is impressive for a bolt-on car! Do you have 2 more tenths in it to move into 2nd place on the bolt-on list?

The last run I made before the skinnies was at about 250 DA. The above run was -600. There is more in the car. I was launching at 2000 rpm. I can hold up to 2400 but it is dependent on track conditions if my narrow *** tires will stick. I have found that a 2200 launch is good for .05 better when bracket racing which is about how much I like to hold. With more passes stalled all the way up and a bit better air I have no doubt there is a .1 to .15. Sadly I am headed offshore for a month and that air won't be around long. I might throw a set of 275s on the front rims and give it one last shot after bracket season just for grins but then a cage and cam are going in and I plan on playing catch up with the head cam cars. I never really intended on chasing a number, just kinda a fun side effect of building a bracket car. Didn't turn out bad for a beat 150k mile vette.

We are in the same boat. We've been 11.58 with a stock lift/stock duration Pure Stock cam and don't think there is a whole lot left in it so we're moving on. Currently I'm putting a NO wet kit on and yesterday we drove over to our tuners and picked up a set of 243 heads. The plan is to let AI CNC the heads, get a SNS Stage III cam from Martin @ Tick, and hopefully spray our way into the 9s with the LS6 intake. If we don't we'll put a FAST on it and if necessary (would be really surprised if we had to) put 200 jets in it. I'd like to have a 9 second street-legal small tire car that we can bracket race and go 10s consistently NA without breaking parts.

I'd give Martin a call at Tick Performance. He seemed extremely knowledgable and was very friendly.

Impressive ET with that mph. I'd love to pull a 1.5 sixty.

Keep me updated. We are in the same boat, I want a bracket car that I can spray down. My issue is the milage in the engine. If I rebuild it will be a 383 set up for 200-300 shot.

We'll keep you updated. Ours has 51,000 miles but when you start to spray I don't think it's a matter of IF it breaks but WHEN. When we get to that point I'd like to go forged and 400+ cubic inches and also spray more as well. Maybe 8s? Our nitrous kits will spray 400 with some line changes but we'll most likely never get that serious.

Hey Txboatman, can you post your dyno graph....preferably in a numbered column format.

And congrats on a great combo.

**EDIT**---And also shift rpm, shift drop rpm and trans ratios.

.
