Default It's a bracket car!

11.41, 11.37, 11.37, 11.37.
All just shy of 121.
Even threw in a .001 light.
Just play night though.

I'm comming up on 100 passes on the car now. Still playing with the tune, getting the logged data to behave as expected. Funny that it doesn't really care what I set things to ET wise....oh well.

I'm still not leaving full throttle, I just don't trust the track.

Looking forward to some cool dry air. Tonight was 80 and humid. Temp didn't move 4 deg all night.

And, the Performabuilt 4L60 hasn't missed a beat.

Ron, you just can't beat these Autos for consistency. I ran the following at MIR in my Silverado last year. I have been keeping a drag record in Excel.

11.155 @120.21 1.585 Hoosier Slicks 7.088 @97.03
11.163@119.43 1.567 Hoosier Slicks 7.078 @ 96.92
11.142@120.21 1.565 Hoosier Slicks 7.072 @ 96.96
11.164@120.28 1.611 Hoosier Slicks 7.107 @ 97.41
11.154@119.46 1.564 Hoosier Slicks 7.069 @ 96.85

I think your Vette will see a ten slip before you are done

Here is what warmer air does to me. All runs were on the same day:

11.315@118.03 1.545 Hoosier Slicks 7.158 @ 94.63 MPH
11.383@118.12 1.588 Hoosier Slicks 7.229 @ 94.51
11.407@117.82 1.583 Hoosier Slicks 7.235 @ 94.13
11.514@117.85 1.659 Hoosier Slicks 7.344 @ 94.17
11.500@117.51 1.653 Hoosier Slicks 7.334 @ 94.08
11.443@117.46 1.586 Hoosier Slicks 7.259 @ 93.71

Just curious Ron, what rpm do you have it programmed to shift? You and that c5 are very consistent. Great job!

Hi Marty,

I have it set to shift at 6550 (43mph) 1-2 and 6500 (79 mph) 2-3.

It hits these numbers within 5 or so rpm. It's pretty cool.

I'd like to try another 100 rpm...or 200 but not so sure on the stock short block....I don't want to blow it up.

Scott, no tens. I'm really not sure I'll ever get the weather/track combo to do that. Sigh......

Ron, I doubt another 100 even 200 rpm will hurt it. I was told ( by Cartek) to shift my ls6 at 6800. The power band stays almost flat from 5900-6800. It just doesn't quit. Take a look at your Dyno graph and your data logging. 200 rpm on top may add another 20+ rwhp after it shifts. I assume you have good valve springs on your far heads.
Let me know

Yes, it has the upgraded springs. I think I'll save the higher shift points for the good air though.....

And you are right, the power is still going up at my shift points......

I am really wondering about the shift recovery. If it drops to say 5200 and the engine makes 390(?), it might make 410 at 5400. The hp climbs quickly in that rpm range. Check your Dyno graph.
10's aren't far away.

It hasn't been on the dyno.

But, here is a data log of a run on Friday.

It drops to 4850 after the 1-2 shift and to 4900 after the 2-3 shift.

Hmmmm......

My wee 346 peaked hp @ 6700 & then flat lined to 7200. That was 228/228 113+1, so slightly more camshaft than you are running.

Your logging good data to see if bumping works but if your skeered......

I'm having trouble finding your peak torque number as the tune is still messed up right there. I would also add some fuel in that peak torque area

Friday was 80 deg, 29.8 baro and 60% RH

CTD by the way guys is my frustrated tuning mentor......

Your track elevation is showing 29ft above sea level. That track must rock in October-November area. Some -DA days ?

CTD racing with you ?

Actually, track closes in Oct cause it rains. Opens in April.....we miss any great cool winter days.
I've seen -DA here one time, and it was fleeting, right back to 1000+, according to the folks with weather stations.

CTD lives 12 hours from me, so nope. No strips close to him either...and he has a vert. Trust me, his 413 is rather bad ***, he would get one run......

That sux.
We get some - DA days but most of the time it is not when the track is open. Just the luck of the draw.

That has got to be frustrating not having good air and then when you do the track closes. I grew up in Central Ohio and it was the same way then but I really didn't drag race much and moved away in my mid-20s.

In East Texas our July and August racing is worthless. I'm wanting to TNT with all these new parts but with temps in the low 100s, heat index values approaching 110, and DAs close to 4000' might as well not go out. Depending on weather we stay open year 'round and it's not unusual to see negative DAs in the late fall, winter, and early spring. Dallas Raceway has an altitude of 500' so unless it's mid-summer it's typically pretty fast when the track is prepped.
