Very cool...

What's the compression ratio?

And please educate me.

Why does it seem to be more popular to use the LS3 to build a 427 as opposed to the LS7?

Compression is 11.3. The LS3 Block is $1,142 cheaper than the LS7 Block. This is the ultimate engine package for big cubes at a low price.

Our Camshaft is 24x duration with big lift. It has a nice lope to it and idles smoothly.

from what i understand about the k-1 crank they have straight journal oiling which will ensure constant flow rather than oil flow stall at intersections. is this that much better than the cross drilled cranks and could you elaborate on which cranks are cross drilled. how much rwhp can the k-1 take

Very impressive setup, I'm thinking the LS3 may be the better route for me to go 427cid when I'm ready. Great numbers, must be a monster on the street.

Also, with the LS3 block, do you avoid some of the oiling issues I've read about with the LS7 block using wet sump?

At this power level and type of use, the standard oil journal works fine. We don't have a list of cranks that are cross drilled.

We did not have any issues converting the LS7 to wet sump. There should be no reason for a problem. The blocks are the same when converted. Let us know if we can help and feel free to contact us if you have any more questions.

Thanks

Is it true you should NOT use power adders with a stroke over 4.1? being the piston is close to the bottom edge of the block?

Also can you give specs on the camshaft and power range? You sell that by itself? I have a LS3 418 stroker now. I lOVE IT!

All the major Crankshafts/Rods in this price range are made offshore.

For mild forced induction applications, you'll be fine with the larger stroke. For extreme forced induction applications, we recommend the 4.000" stroke. Our Camshaft is 24x duration with big lift. The power range is to 6500 rpm. Yes, we can sell this Camshaft by itself for $374.99.
