Default new best on friday night 10/16/09

new time for me friday night....

same car no changes.

555 street tires (not drag radials)
vararam, headers, cat back, tune

12.552 @ 112.83

still have issues with spinning, (street tires) need to get some dr's to get a little better....

there were about 20 vettes, mostly c5's and c6's at the track that night... my brother came in late and the tech guy was even talking to him about it....

another friend with a stock c5 zo6 with a vararam on street tires got his best run of a 12.6....

I picked up nearly 5 tenths with a good set of wheels and tires. I'm just bolt-on, too.

i'm hoping to get some drag radials sometime in the near future....
i have some 17X9.5 zo6 front wheels i plan on using....

dropping .5 would be really cool with just DR's...

i know it will take some more practice too to get used to the DR's...

Im in the same boat. Needs some drs! I went friday also at atl dragway and got a 2.0 60' 8.1 in the 8th at 93mph and ran a 12.44 at 118mph. Nitto 555 drs 305 arent to great for the track but are awesome for the street.

Default good run!

I'm running M/t drag radials on z06 17s 295/40/17 taller tires seem to hook better for me you could run 12.00 with my tires and 11s with a shot of nitrous or a cam! good run for what you got

295/40 17?

i was always told 275/40 17? and that i should be using a 26" tire....

are these 28"?

do you have a 6 speed or a/t?

what gears?

auto with a stall i had 275s but they spun! the taller tire hooks better because more side wall they make a bigger foot print did you see my video it hooks

it was nice to finally see this pic...

the street tires seem to hook for a split second on launch, then when loaded they spin?

maybe that is why the front end looks like it coming up..?

that's my guess for the 60' times.....

hope to get it down with some drag radials when $$$ permits...
