Took my 6 Speed car out last night to the first time to our 1\4 mile track. The car is a bolt on heads, cam, longtube, intake, hardend shafts tranny diff brace etc that puts down 450+. I couldnt find any bias ply tires for front runners in time so i drove there on my normal setup not on slicks. I have the 305 18 Nitto Drag Radials and man im impressed by them. I was launching the car right around 3000rpm and got a best 60 of 1.78 and the first pass was 11.80 @ 118, second pass was a 11.78 @120 and i did two back to back 11.68s @ 118mph. With some 4.10s and slicks im sure i can get some 1.5s easy leaving pretty hard to get her in the 10.9 10.8 range. BTW this is a car with 124,000 miles on it. Everyone was asking me how much i was spray, all motor baby!!! I love this car. And to think i was gonna sell it... Jay
what clutch and rear gear? if youre running 342s and your M6 than your 60ft on nittos isnt too bad as that gear/trans sux for drag racing...what heads and cam are you running? with 450rwhp+ you should be trapping 125+...get back out there and practice and have these guys coach you and youre times will drop and mph will rise...check out rangeracceleration dot com and theres some good tips on maximizing your cars potential at the strip

Good job man, you will go even quicker on a better tire as well of course.

True...but I don't actually get the impression that he is trying to pass it off as a bolt ons only car either. Stock bottom end yes, but he clearly states that he has bolt ons, heads and a cam.

Spec stage III - stock gear out back 342's. That trap speed your saying is way higher than anyone ive talked to. I have Dart 225 heads on the car. Jay

Congrats on your runs. The 125+ mph trap speed is quite plausible with a proper H/C setup. I've witnessed trap speeds as high as 138.80 with an exceptional H/C package (Trick Flow) as well as 126.32 mph with a true bolt-on only car. These are more the exception then the rule.
I suggest working on your 60' but you will be limited by the Nittos. Good luck.
