Default Ran 1/8 mile tonight WITH SPRAY! (video inserted!)

So I took it out tonight to the local drag strip and found out it was 1/8 mile only. I was REALLY pissed off because I wanted to run 1/4 but got over it and went ahead and raced.

My best time was:

Reaction: .5103

60ft: 1.5944

330ft: 4.4896

1/8 ET: 6.8918

1/8 mph: 100.94

My mph varied but I was between 100 and 102 mph all night with only a .10 difference in every run. The air was AMAZING! According to the DA calculator we had a -189 DA!!!

Im spraying a 100 shot and its very rich so we are going to do some more tuning and maybe bump the shot to 150 with a little race gas mix. I would LOVE to send this car into the LOW 10's or the high 9's!

According to the conversion calculator (which I HATE using) its saying that my pass was about a 10.6. So we will see in due time. I dont see weather like tonight to hit us again till Jan. or Feb.

Tell me what you guys think.

Daniel

Here is the video!!

Oh and thats not the normal burnout for me... They didnt lay enough water down so i didnt get that good of a burnout because the tires hooked and stopped me! LOL

I would have expected the trap speed to be a lot higher with your mods and a 100 shot with that air.

CONGRATS!!!!!!! AWESOME RUN! Keep up the goog work. I think that might have been a 10.7x pass. You 1/8mph could vary on where you shift at and if you can hold 3rd past the 1/8th once. Its crazy my car would go from trapping 98-99mph to 102mph and run the same ET almost.

Daniel,
I pulled a 10.6 slip to see how close it was to mine...see above in bold.

Exactly what your saying is something I've been trying to explain to people for years. Many couldn't grasp the concept or just didn't want to understand.
This FACT is also why sometimes we see unusually high 1/8 to 1/4 mph out the back door.

While doing a T&T in mid July with my 11.00 set up.
1.6551 60'
4.6281 330'
7.0379 1/8 mile
102.27 1/8 mph
10.79 1/4 ET
133.44 1/4 MPH

In doing a comparison with your run and mine...you are well into the 10.xx ET...congrats and keep on spraying!!

Thanks a lot, guys! I was really nervous running the spray and it was the first time out on ET Drags as opposed to ET Streets so I think I will get better as time goes. We are going to put the wide band in next week and try to get it tuned a little better. I will keep everyone posted.

Congrats. It appears that your pass would be in the range of 10.6 to 10.7. Great job.

Just like I said... we have a bit of tuning to do. The guys that tuned it (Lethal Performance in San An) dont like to tune on the edge and I dont blame them one bit.

We hooked up HP software to the car and made some WOT passes and the narrow band calculations have me reading 11.8 on motor and the Good Lord only knows what it is on Nitrous. So I have a wideband sitting here awaitin install but I have to find the time to do mine. So we are going to lean it out and throw some timing at it then see what happens.

I think the launch looks very good IMO. Smooth front stays up, shifting could use touched up a bit. Did you shift into 4th before the end? Personally I would try to hold 3rd past the in 1/8th if it were 1/8th mile only. As for quarter I would go for optimum shift point for ET. Track looks scarey but well prepped at the same time LOL! Tree's only a few feet away if you got really out of shape..... Oh and the front GTO spares it looks like yours are closer to the edge of the fender. Usually they look sunk in to far? Maybe its just the angle and they do sit in really far but if they dont what did you do so they stick out further and look less gay like.......say PITTMAN's car

Pittman get a damn job and come to MIR damnit!!!!!!!! NO better yet..... YOUR JOB IS TO COME TO MIR!!!!!!!!! SLUT!!!!!!!! YOU TO JDANIEL!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking about the leaves falling from the tree and being underneath the tire when you bang out a gear. Death-slip 2000 !!

Thanks, man! Im running 2" hubcentric spacers up front to make the tires look right. I thought it was weird looking with the tires tucked in so far. I got them on Ebay but I cant remember the site.

The reason the shifts sound so slow on this pass is because I just hot lapped it three times and the hydraulics were getting weak and the clutch was HOT and it didnt wanna shift as good. The pass just before this one I missed second HARD because the same reason.

The track if definetly scary but if you can go all out with the guard rail only a couple feet away then racing at a real track is nothing. LOL The track is actually an old peice of highway that was there in the '50s and as soon as they made the new road they turned this piece of road into the drag strip and its been used for that purpose since the late '50s.

I did shift into fourth on this pass because I was changing up the sift points to see where I got the best time. I went from running a 7.0 @ 102 to a 6.89 @ 100 when I shift into fourth earlier.

I would LOVE to come out to MIR and race but we just had our first born and im trying to save as much money as I can and stay racing at the same time. So a trip that far away is a little impracticable right now.
