I have the exact rear in my car.... however I dont drag race, I rather the turns on a road course. 2 yrs and about 5,000 track miles with no issues.... also running rear & trans coolers --placed where the mufflers USED to be... keeps lines short!

I almost opted for a quaife rear diff, until I researched further and found its not as good for a drag racing application. My understanding is that it lets you catch a one wheel peel easier and can over heat them.

Rodney set me up with a Quaife unit in the C6 Z06 rearend that is in my C5 Coupe dynoing around 830RWHP last year. I DO DRAG RACE as everyone knows and I have about 125 nine second runs on the setup so far with NO ISSUES AT ALL!
I run 28" tall Hoosier Slicks so I'm putting a lot of stress on the rear end every time I race. The "Barbie Vette" launches hard AND straight so I would have to say "IT IS WORTH THE MONEY"
BEST SO FAR:
9.25 ET
151 MPH
1.32 60'
5.19 / 121 1/8 mile

You did the right thing by opting for the quaife unit. I think that you will find that many of the quickest and fasted C5s in the country are using the quaife in their diffs. I switched to it a while back after melting several sets of clutch packs. The quaife does feel slightly different but works great. You will never have to worry about melting clutch packs while doing a one-wheel-burnout as there is nothing to melt. I have a 427 N/A A4 C5 and have acheived many 1.320-1.33 60 ft times so I would say that the quaife IS good for drag racing applications.

first of all.. your car is SICK, i'm in illinois we should meet up sometime and go for a cruise. what is your prediction on how fast i should really be? forged 408making 500rwhp na.. i am then putting a 200 shot on it. i also just got the same converter that you were running i'm also on a lvl 6 rpm trans.
hopefully i've got everything where i need it to be to blast a high 9 sec run.

Quaife Diff
We got ours from DTE in Indiana after frying the posi clutches on a one wheel burnout. It was the 1st run on Friday at PINKS ALL OUT in Atlanta in May last year. It did hold up long enough to win the event. We got ours right after DBN, he's our hero! We echo what his comments are. Many runs, no trouble, clear fluid when changed, no posi clutch material to contaminate anything.
