Default Everyone post who hit 10's NA for the first time in 2008!

I'm just curious who, when, what and how you hit 10's with for the first time in 2008. So lets see what year/model car you're running what mods(basic list),transmission and a run down of your slip, weather conditions. Things like where you expect to improve to faster this year. This in the end will be a motivational thread to Nickolbag to make things magical happen this year and make his maiden voyage into the 10's aswell. So heres my results.

2000 FRC M6 raceweight approx 3240-3250lbs w/driver
Heads/Cam/Intake 4.10s, bias ply rears and skinnies.

60ft-1.551-spinning
330ft-4.512 light spin on 1-2shift
1/8th-6.959
1/8mph-99.30-
1000ft-9.073
1/4mi-10.819
1/4mph-130.08

Next year gonna spray it cause I exploded my rear and put 28in tall slicks on and see what else is a weak point.

COME ON NICK!!!!!!!! We need to get you pumped up right away this year!

Thinking of something like a TNT 90mm ring or a NOS plate 90mm due to thats the thinnest one and just your old fashioned wet kit with bottle heater, purge, and run a 50-100shot just to see if the car will take it down the track to say a sub 10.5-4 range with around 135mph traps just where i need the 10pt cage, parachute and all that crap i'm not sticking on the car.

Come on what happen to the Nick OLE BAG man???? We need the guy pumped and show everyone is doing it!!! Its the in thing to do. Yes and a little bragging HELL I DESERVE MAN BACK OFF!!!!!!! lol

I know what your saying about not wanting a cage.Presently I am right on that 135 MPH mark (six point roll bar) in the summer months, and would love to increase my shot 200/225,but the track may crack down on me if I do.So far they have let me run 138+ late in the season, however, that could change at the drop of a hat.

The parachute rule is for cars that run 150 mph and faster.Dude don't get a "BIG HEAD NOW THAT YOUR A 10 SECOND MAN".

Nick,Nick,Nick...10.9X,10.9X,10.9X...you are feeling sleepy and when you awake you'll be a 10 second man "TOO".

Mine is shifting like crap again. 2 bad years of clutcches, one good...then crap again.
Don't know what is up ?????????????????????

Gonna shoot mine like a horse with a broken leg.

Ran a 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9 & 10.9 (last three were with the bad shifting, 3 runs were aborted from no second gear)

I say we take them both out back and shoot them. Use the good parts as a donor to build a Factory Five GTM and burn the rest!

First i want to say what is being done with the 346 is amazing. Congrats to all the stock cube guys. 10s is awesome....9s is ridiculous. One day I will catch up.

I want to thank Cartek for providing a great car. I drove 60 miles to the track...ran 3 passes...and drove home. I was at Capital Raceway in MD about 85 degrees out. Not sure what the track temp was. I have an RPM 4L60 and sitting on NITTO drag radials. I was hoping for a little better but was satisfied for the first 3 passes on the new motor. Cartek 427, 3:42 rear with a 3800 stall. Full weight.

60 1.849 1.677 1.697
330 5.55 4.627 4.653
1/8 8.252 7.056 7.084
mph 94.07 100.18 100.34
1000 10.472 9.165 9.190
1/4 12.301 10.931 10.951
mph 125.54 130.45 131.14

Hoping for low 10s in 2009....possibly some nines(nitrous or turbo)

OH SHEEEITT!!!!!!!!! WTF PITT!!! What master cylinder do you have? I have the TICK maybe its something for you to try and give us your opinion. So damn you hit 10.6's again. Where the hell are the details???? When did this go down? How many freaking runs did you make? GEBUS!!! Not making me feel warm and fuzzy about the clutch option PITT. I'm looking at the Spec twin right now and looks like you may make up my final mind though many are saying the Spec twin is going to be to on/off and break stuff and not be a good track clutch. I guess time will tell. I dont want to keep ripping the damn thing apart though.

Nickolbag I offered if you get the TICK to drive on up spend the day and we'll change your plugs, oil, trans fluid, plug wires, master cylinder and go for another test spin. We'd have to push my POS edition FRC out of the garage (1car poop) but we'll getter done!

Congrats on your accomplishment thus far. I'll bet your car makes it in the 10's easy. We have to wait for perfect weather days and pray on perfect shifting and launches to make these runs happen. Pittman does it with a 383ci I think. So he's a cheater but we still like him LOL!
Maybe I'll see you at Crapital this year wtih my sled.

Pitt,
If I remember correctly your running the Mcleod street twin. What master cylinder are you using and is the clutch a rebuild?

I know my Mcleod street twin was rebuilt by Mcleod in mid November and after being installed at Livernois Motorsports the vibration was very bad.The clutch was again returned to Mcleod and I still don't know what the verdict is concerning the vibration problem, this has been one big cluster fu--.I am afraid that the cost of this whole thing (labor and freight)will fall back on me again...paying twice for the same clutch installation.Even though Mcleod hasn't said anything to date, you can bet the clutch in severely out of balance...hopefully I can get some answers on Monday...bet they will try and hose me.

Sorry for getting off subect...I just had to vent a little!!

This was first year to hit the 10s. I was very excited to say the least. This happened at Atco on 11/21 and I distinctly remember the snow flakes falling as I drove down on my drag radials. It was a very good air day for making HP and Atco did a wonderful job prepping the track. I ended my day with this pass.
10.995@123.72--1.514---'04 11/21/08-VR CAI, DRs, ARH LTs, Textralia Clutch, 4.10 Gears, Skinnies, Tuned by AMR
60'............. 1.514
330'........... 4.531
660'........... 7.035
660’ mph.... 97.76
1000'.......... 9.183
1320'..........10.995
1320’ mph… 123.72
Track......... Atco

I was able to attend a second rental at Atco on 12/5. However, it did not snow this day but the air was also very good. My first pass out yielded a 10.95 so I knew that better times were possible as long as the driver was up to it. Out of my 12 passes that day, 7 were in the 10s and culminated in the last pass of the season.
10.890@125.06--1.465---'04 12/5/08-VR CAI, DRs, ARH LTs, Textralia Clutch, 4.10 Gears, Skinnies, Tuned by AMR
60'............. 1.465
330'........... 4.475
660'........... 6.963

1000'.......... 9.094
1320'..........10.890
1320’ mph… 125.06
Track......... Atco
Thanks to the entire AMR crew for their support.

As for this year's goals, I would like to be competitive in the Corvette 11.50 class. We will see how that works out.
As for lower ET, a few more bolt-on mods may be put on in the fall. With the right conditions, we believe that a 10.6x is possible. We will have to wait and see.

Good luck to everyone and their quest.
