1/8 7.5

1/4 11.71 @ 107

Running ET streets @ 17psi

Can some please explain to me how my car trapped lower on the 2nd pass but went quicker? Im not a drag racer so I dont understand how this works. My car makes over 550rwhp, my best yet is a 11.41 @ 127.86. Im not the best went it comes to drag racing(obviously ) but would still like to understand it. Guys at the track were telling me based on my ET's I should be in the 10's. Does this mean Im really that bad of a driver?

Thanks for any input guys

Rick you just need some track time. Just because you was a monster at the road race track the first time does mean you are going to be at the drag race track. Get with me and I'll give you some tips. But no matter what you need seat time.

You should be in the low 10s.

You tell us what you were doing in the car. Shift points the same every time? Driving habits? Your 107MPH was probably because you let off before the last cone/foam block but were going to run a faster pass than before. The MPH is measured between the last two cones.

What was your 1/8 MPH?

I'm probably going to catch hell from all the internet bench racers who've never been down a 1/4 in their lives but whatever.

Maybe the lights were off on your second run? You would have had to slam on the brakes HARD to run an 11.7 and only trap 107. The 121 mph trap is spot on however.

IMO I don't see 10's without slicks. What was your 60' on that 11.4 pass? The MPH is there but I don't know if you have the traction.

Obviously you are a good driver (consistent 1.7 60' NICE).

Edit: BTW your times are awesome, especially if you have very little experience drag racing.

60' was a 1.6 on the 11.4 pass. Thanks for the complament! It's funny, when you watch drag racing on TV, it looks so simple boy was I wrong! Im use to road racing motorcycles but drag racing cars is a totally different experience! I have a new found respect to those guys that go out here and put down nice consistant times on the strip

I know I made a couple of mistakes... hit the rev limiter in 2nd & 3rd a couple of times and for some reason know matter what tire psi I put in the tires, she still spins!! weather it be 1st or 2nd gear. I know I need more seat time but I also think I need to see some of the better drivers drive

Oh and 1/8 mph average is between 99-101mph

Bouncing the rev limiter is a really good way to get your trap speeds up. Conversely your ET's will also slower.

BTW what do you have done to your car? Im guessing for 550+ whp it's probably supercharged,
