I can't wait to run at Zmax in Charlotte. I hear that it is a great track.
Did you make some changes since your 9.9 runs? That car is flying on the back half. Your 1/8th traps didnt change from your 9.9s but you picked up 8 MPH in the quarter. Any idea why?

From the time that I ran consistent 9.9s in the fall of '07 until the LSX shootout in the fall of '08, my car had been consistently slowing down, especially in the mph department. I found out that I had one cylinder leaking 50% so I had the engine re-machined and re-assembled using a new set of pistons, rings, bearings and valve springs. Now I am keeping all the cylinder pressure in the cylinder where it belongs. I had to adjust my tune-up but now I can apply the new-found power to the track which equates to more mph. If you watch the Pro Stock cars race, you will see that the cars that make the most power also run more mph.

I would have thought 144 traps would have put you closer to a 9.5x than a 9.7. Do you think you are leaving some time on the track somewhere? What power is it making now?

I might be leaving some slight performance on the track at the starting line. I was still not dead-hooking as hard as I would have liked even though I was getting 1.32x 60ft times. If SGMP had a starting line prep like Carolina dragway, I would definately have better 60ft times and would be in the 9.6s. I don't know what the power level is as I have not been to the dyno yet, but it must be pretty good.

Did you change gears or tire setups from your 9.9s to the 9.70?
Danny let me know when you want to go to Zmax...its like 3 hours from the house...I'd like to take a ride out there and check your car out and make a couple 1/8 mile passes...then when satisfied during the first 1/8 mile go ahead and run out the 1/4...get my slip, get booted(cage), and hopefully drive home under my own power!

I was planning to run there the last weekend of April in the PINKS event but the next weekend (May 1-3) is the big NMCA race at Bowling Green which includes a special "rumble" class for corvettes so I don't want to race those two weekends in a row. I am planning to race at another NMCA race in August that is held at ZMax. Other than that, I don't have any plans to race there. I wish that they had a weekly test and tune schedule.
