Stealth II installed...Impressions within
Well my "I'm not going to mod this one" is coming along nicely. Just finished installing a MTI Stealth II cam 224/220 581/581 on a 116. My full mod list is
Stelth II cam
LG LT's with ORP
Borla stinger with flowmaster 1 chambers
918's and Ti retainers
TRAP intake
My goal was to build a car that was everything the Z06 is but better. I wasn't going to do headers but a deal fell in lap, so now my exaust is pretty damn loud but other than that my goals have been accomplished.
I have an 01 so it has the 116 lsa stock, aside from the sewing machine sound you really wouldn't know a cam was in there if you didn't know LSx motors. Accellaration is much much more linear than stock, Tire spin on the supercars is excessive and I haven't even gone past 4500 rpm (will do that tomorrow after the springs cool off)
Basically the cam has not really had ANY negative effect on the drivability of the car and its NOT EVEN TUNED yet!!!! Its just made a great thing even better. I can't comment on gas mileage because I don't care enough to watch it.
So my goal of a Z06 mannerisim just "better" have been achieved, I need to get some Cats on it to quiet it down some (although it sounds SOOOOO mean) and then tune it. Hopefully I can get some tuning done tonight and tommorow and take it the track on Friday. After I have it dialed in (or maybe I'll tune it on the dyno a bit) I'll get dyno numbers. I hope for 390-410rwhp I never did a baseline so I don't know how strong the car was to begin with.

Based PURELY on SOTP I'd say it comes on alot better at 3k than the Z06 cam did, the z06 felt kinda lazy down low then when it hit, it hit kinda violently so if you drove it normal everywhere it was pretty docile. 3-4k is pretty strong now. Can't do a WOT run today because its raining Its no tree puller but I definately didn't loose any bottom end.
Like I stated before it feels more linear hope it dries up today

Amazing you can drive it smoothly without tune after cam.
As far as sound, you may want to check out the Z06 Ti's. I had the same issue with my Kooks LT's and catless. I had Borla 2 tip stingers and it was way loud for me. Then I traded a Forum member for his Ti's and I've been really happy so far.
Nice rumble at idle through 2500, after that, it really has a nice, but not obnoxious scream to it.
Try to get a test listen if you can to someone's car before you spend a lot of $$ on more pipes. The Ti's are a nice combo IMO.

Dont expect to dyno well. I have a much larger cam and higher compression ported heads (mods in sig.) and only make 384rwhp on a dyno. I trap between 116-119 in the 1/4 which in a 3500lb car equates to 410+ rwhp, yes i am 300lbs which really kills trap speed!
I was trapping around 112-114 before heads and a 224/224 cam. My HP under the curve is awesome, 3000 rpm i am over 300 rwhp and by 3800 i am over 350 then it goes up at a 5 degree angle to the 6500 shift to 384.
Max numbers are good for bragging but I have raced cars at the track and on the street that dyno 30-50rwhp more than me and yet I still pull them!
Sounds like you have a nice setup. If you have a A4 take it to the track to find out real HP!

That's COOL I didn't realize you had the new stick in! I would bet you can get really close to 400, maybe just over. Although it appears you may have swapped in LS1 heads and an Auto tranny....into your Z06....
