Thanks Vette Dr's and ECS
Attended a track rental today at Atco hosted by Vette Dr's and ECS. Nice to see two shops who compete for our business still manage to maintain an air of civility and collegiality. Too bad that doesn't exist elsewhere. We even had some TT Viper guys joining us...kind of cool watching one of them do 8.3x@ 171.
Anyway, as for me...no records today. Just trying to get some consistency with my launches (varied between 1.6x-1.8x) and trying a couple of different tuning parameters. We didn't start racing until 11:30, as the sun wasn't out and the humidity was high. When we did start using the track, just about all of us were getting loose in the back end at 2/3rd track. they finally came out and scrapped the track up at the top end, the sun came out, and all was well.
Nice to see Paul Major working on repairing a carburetor on Angelo's car (and who works for who? ). As for Angelo's car...who says old technology is bad? Nuff said.
Good to see John's car and John back in the driver's seat again.
Jersey Jays car was there, and Doug from ECS made a few "low boost" passes with it. Even at that, the car was breaking the tires loose...but not before running a very nice top end. That car is a beast.
Doug made a sub-10 second pass in his old Camaro with its "tired" engine. If that car can run like that with a tired engine, imagine what it will do with a freshening up.
There were a couple of other ECS cars there, fresh out of the shop also getting "dialed in" with their new found power.
All in all, it was a fun day, and save for one of our TT Viper friends who had a break on the half shaft on his first launch it appeared that everyone was able to drive home in one piece and race another day.

Carmen thanks for putting a nice track rental together today.
Don I commented to Chris and Doug I really like the way your car runs.
My thanks to Chris and Doug for an awsome job on my car and not letting me drive it as I would have put it in the wall with the track conditions we had today.
Chris I have some money left that you didn't take so we'll go in August after we dial the car in better and run 28" slicks and see if we can get a 9 sec. pass. If we break something oh well!
Great job by the Vette Drs and ECS!
BTW my best run @ 12 PSI with 26" slicks and the car getting loose in every gear.
1500 RPM launch
60 ft 1.745
1/4 10.962
MPH 132.52

Nice pass Jay...
Chris, I'm waiting to hear back from you!
Don, what is collegiality??? That can't be a word. Is that colleagues+comraderie?

I had to laugh when Carmen asked Chris for the $150.00 for the track rental and Chris handed him a buck!

The track was real cold and not prepped well at all.

I spoke with Paul and he should be good to go next week...maybe the two of you will line up in the Pro 8 final.
As for John Gorman's car, the Dr's were doing some diagnostics. As Jay said, they were not running full tilt, but rather gathering data. The engine sounded good. I can attest to that.
Angelo's car ran pretty good too. I'm thinking I need to ditch my fuel injectors and put on a good ole' 4 barrel carb....hey, is that technical enough for you?

I'm trapping 98-99 at the 1/8th, and then she just drops off. We're not sure why...maybe my foot isn't on the pedal hard enough in 4th gear.

Your mph in the 1/8th looks good.
Try shifting into fourth gear instead of sixth gear, maybe that will help.
