Default Corvette/Non Corvette Related question

I have been restoring headlights on the side; Very new to any kind of detailing of that matter when it comes to wet sanding etc. I ran into these headlights along with CTS-V Lights( the V lights came out a lot better but these volvo lights...)

Is this repairable?

Photos do not help here due to I cannot tell of the actual plastic is damaged. If the surface is damaged bad enough...you will need to sand it so much to get those bad areas out.

I can say that these lenses often times have a scratch resistant clear on them that when it is removed causes the lenses to go dull much faster. The reason I know this is because I often times get people who want me to get their lenses looking new again and let them know it is a waste of time UNLESS I can re-apply the coating on the exterior of them.....which makes the job even more involved.

I started wet sanding with 600,800,1000,1500,2000,2500,3000 and went long on the 600,800,1500,3000 than did 4 stages of buffing and that was still there, Used a flash light to try to get an idea of how bad it was but it was too hard to see... I use ceramic products on headlights, even though i hear clear might be the way to go, might go there next.

If the imperfections were still there. the reason for that is because when you were sanding with the 600 grit....you did not do it long enough to ge that imperfection out.

You may find you may need to use 400 or 500 grit in some of the bad areas where the imperfections are deeper. OR...you will just have to sand much longer with the 600 grit to get it all out before you buff it.
