Default 2 different brand clears.

Painted the back half of my 80 Corvette yesterday. I used PPG basecoat and SPI Universal clear. I put on 4 coats of clear and had some orange peel and a couple of runs. While sanding out a run I went thru the clear.(small spot). Now I have a quart of mixed clear from SPI. Considering the clear was just sprayed can I just blend in that one area with a couple of coats or should I clear the whole back of the car.

Now if I have to clear the whole back, I don't have enough of the SPI to do it. Maybe one coat after the touch up but I have a gallon of House of Colors clear, can I use that over the SPI clear.

if you get a sag use 2 in tape over it before sanding. you can not sand out a run without burning through on the edge .
i would call spi and order some more clear. block the rest of the car touch up the burn with color and reclear it .

I had enough to make 2 full passes on the car. I will wait until it dries then wet sand with 1000 to see how it looks.
