Default just installed a Rapidair system

just finished installing a Rapidair system in my 20X30 foot garage garage. nice kit for the home shop. I give it a

http://www.rapidairproducts.com/rapidair.asp

I bought the 1/2" kit - it worked out great first time - NO LEAKS!!! my basic setup is a 7HP, single stage, 60 gal tank w/ a DeVilbiss clean air filtering system, running 1/2" line to the main manifold. I have 5 quick-disconnect outlets, one dedicated for HVLP painting (3/8" line w/ DeVilbiss high flow quick disconnect), one 3/8" - 50 foot hose reel, one 3/8" general usage, and two 1/4" workbench disconnects.

slowly but surely, my garage/shop is coming together!

One of these days I'll buy my own home and can then start upgrading it like you!

I've seen people use PVC tubing... guess this is easier and maybe even safer?

No. There's been much debate about this but the consensus is when pvc fails it explodes and can be very dangerous because it's NOT rated for air pressure.

Yeah. I've heard of it exploding but I assumed with most things if you don't smash it with something it would work fine. Thought maybe the heavier schedule tubing was what most used.

We use the tubing the OP posted on our planters and combines and it is nice with the quick connections. We only had one failure in 4 years(basically looked like a pin *****) in the tubing that caused a leak...but no major failure or explosions.

But on a combine is a way different environment than in the garage.

If the PVC fails and you get pieces in you, they cannot be detected on X-ray.
