1st time with a spray gun
Just acquired this from a neighbor
I will admit that I have never used one of these before, plus my neighbor has no idea what happened to the instructions.
I am going to ask a simpleton question. How do I calibrate the gun to get the spray pattern I want?
It does not seem to put out much paint, or maybe I am under the impression that more should come out.
I am in the middle of a bathroom re-do, and decided to spray the closet doors.
Plus, it gives me a reason to spray something
Yes, I am using plain old paint I bought @ Home Depot. Is this too thick for the gun??
Any pointers would be appreciated

GUESSING - if you have a 1.5 mm needle (nozzle) then the gun will be expecting a paint viscosity of about 25-50 DIN seconds. (Your kit may have a DIN cup to measure viscosity or you can obtain one from an automotive paint store.) That said, household paint will most likely be far to thick undiluted. You could dilute the paint enough to spray it, but I would expect the level of dilution would exceed the manufacturers recommendations.
Many household paint suppliers also rent spray equipment that is designed for house paint.

practice-practice-waste some paint practicing, maybe you can practice by priming and not waste so much, spray up some test panels. Did you try you tube?

mix your paint 50/50 with whatever thinner . if an oil base paint use paint thinner, if a water base use water, needs to be not quite the consistancy of water to get thru that gun. do a test spray someplace besides what your trying to paint, plan on doing 3-4 thin coats instead of one thick one, first spray should just be a hazing, let it tack, then lightly spray the other coats till you get the coverage you want
