My vette has needed paint since the day I bought her. Its the main reason I got it for such a steal.
Its a 96, Polo Green Metallic.
I've gotten quotes, and I've gotten frightened lol.
Firstly, my car is a driver, always will be, a show piece it will never be, a show quality paint job it does not need. Jambs are in good shape, not wanting a color change. Just want her to look good again.
Here are the problems.
Spider cracking on front bumper from previous owner hitting something. No real damage, 1 little teeny wave right at the hood side edge, far drivers side, maybe 1" long. I'm really not concerned with it enough to replace the front bumper.
Clearcoat is gone and paint is fading on the roof panel.
Clearcoat is gone and paint is fading badly on the the passenger quarter panel.
Clearcoat is bubbling on the drivers side door, smallish above the handle.
rear bumper has some wave around the center tail light from the florida sun. I will probably be wanting to replace that.
My only real requests with my new paint job are that.. it is indeed the factory color, no overspray please, and that it will last a good long time (providing it's taken care of.. unlike the previous owner.) and that it shines like a new paint job should.
I know I can't get a perfect estimate from a description on a forum, so ballparks are welcome, and if I like what you have to say, I'll bring my vette down for you to take a look.
Large shops are good, small shops are great as well.
