I have a question about the bonding seams on a 64. Do I need to grind them out and fill them with something? I have seen corvette that the seams are showing after a new paint job and I don't want this to happen to the car that I am working on for my buddy. Also what should I use to fill them. Grind them out and fiberglass them in. You can see in this pic what I am talking about.

It is not required for you so use fiberglass mat and resin to fill in the seam area. There is a better product that is much easier to deal with...even though it gets hard. I am sending you a PM.

I'll bet it's Vette Panel Adhesive. Good stuff; I often wonder what wars happened here to cause this PM only advice? Seems a shame newer members don't get "global" advice.... I guess we newbies missed some confrontation of some sort.

Like many of us...I work HARD all day. And when I come home I answer a lot of e-mails and PM's from the forum....which is fine. I like doing it. BUT I do not care for some of the "drama" that occurs when a person recommends a product and other people say that "this or that" works just as well...when I know it does not...in many cases. Only becasue I have TRIED it and it does not perform the same. SO I have chosen to use the PM feature that the forum offers....to side-track the "drama" and attitudes that can be inflamed.

A lot of what I respond to is a repeat of many of my past posts. And many of these may be under my old screeen name when I was a Supporting Vendor here on the forum "grandmastercorvette". I hate it also for the "newbies"also....but nothing stops them from PM'ing me or someone else to get the info they need...or they can even take the time to make a phone call ...like several have done in the past.
I have witnessed the clash of wills which can occur when two or more experienced craftspersons who have differing techniques choose to disagree on a forum such as this. I like this forum in large part because such BS is truly minimal, which is a great credit to all who contribute here. Civility is sorely lacking in so many places these days it is refreshing to encounter it here.
pannel bond/pannel adheasive is good stuff, and have to say Dub explained well how to use it and what to expect from its performance in a phone call. He is not kidding about how hard this stuff gets. Much easer to deal with than glass and resin though,,,,I know because I've had to do both on my repairs. Thanks again Dub.

No...the thanks goes to you and others who have make this forum possible. Mainly because you...along with many, many others...have enough common sense to know when to ask for help....and hopefully get a response from someone who works on Corvettes for a living. Instead of trying to figure it out on your own and mess up greatly.
It is guys like you (not mention all the others I have talked to) who make this forum be something I am glad that I am a part of....even though there are sometimes I prefer to "take the high road" and not get involved in "differences of opinion". I truely do not have the energy for that crap.
Billee...I hope your project is doing well...if not yet completed.

project is coming along, frame work complete, front cracks almost all repared, gonna give you a call when the rear cover comes in to help with fitment.
