Default i hope chevys quality is better now than back in 1980,(pictures)

whats wrong with this picture, this just makes me mad to see this kind of stuff on a high end car.

the hole in this headlight bucket was filled in with bondo from the factury, they where even to lazy to breake the dog turd off the underside where the headlights sit.

i hope there new vetts have better quality than this crap!

Was there a light green primer sprayed over this repair and/or on the top surface of the headlight door while you were stripping it????? IF not. Chances are that it was repaired by someone other than the factory.

The factory is into PRODUCTION....and I seriously doubt that the part was installed by them while the car was being assembled. This part would have more than likely been rejected. So IN MY OPINION...unless you have more information about the questions I raised...IT must have happened at some point in the cars life. But then again...what do I know. But it is repairable and does not need replacing....unless the hole is an integeral part of the top headlight adjuster mounting point...which your photo's do not show.

also, sometimes things get damaged in delivery and the dealerships have them repaired thru whomever they use.

I agree they wouldn't have wasted their time trying to repair a part like this. It would have really screwed things up on the production line. They wanted to build them and ship them. Sometimes assembly quality on the C3s wasn't too good but this isn't something they would do. They wanted less work and less man hours in the product not more. Its one thing to scimp on quality by not spending the effort to make something correctly but it is a totally different thing to spend more time to get worse quality than if you hadn't done anything.
