Default sherman williams paints

I read somewhere one of the vett owners used sherman williams paints auto paints on the car.

I like to know which system did he use If I remember correctly it was like $400.00 for everything.

I most likly going to paint the car my self even I have not painted in over 10 years now but I hope it's like riding a bike once you know how you just forget how.

Plus the car torn apart and I dont want to put back together so the body shop can just tear back aprt so they can paint it and charge me all that labor.

Ya I cheep.

I can put that labor money to use somewhere else in the car instead.

I have used Sherwin Williams paints in the past and had good result. I have found their acrylic enamels particularly easy to apply... PPG and Dupont not so much for me. If you choose the Sherwin line for your paint supplier, buy all of your materials from the same guy... he will ensure you get stuff which is chemically compatible so your job doesn't "blow up" on you.

If you can, choose a solid color, not a metallic because it is much easier for a "rusty" painter to get a good result without needing to worry about mottling the flake, or clearing everything in after; which will save you some bucks on material too.

Thank you very much.

If I remember corretly you don't color sand acrylic enamels and they don't need clear coats.

Spray detape and life go's on.

Sherwin Williams, Acme, and Martin Senior paints are all the same company. Like most other paint companies, they have all lines of paint from Acrylic enamel to urethane and Base Clear.

Bust thats just a personal statement. Ive seen many people have good results with SW paints. The Cross-fire paints sold by napa are widely used in body shops. Ive just never been impressed by SW paints before.

DuPont Nason ful-thane 2K urethane, And their bc/cc called Ful-base are both good, affordable coatings. I use a nason product almost weekly. The pre packaged colors are a great way to paint a car using a non factory color. They are much cheaper then having an OEM color mixed and have the same quality.
Although the only thing I don't like a Nason is their color match. Ive used both the Ful-base and Ful-thane on repair panels and the color match is not good. If your doing a complete re-spray then it's not an issue, but if your just painting a door to match the OEM paint it's better to go with chroma-base or PPG Deltron DBC.

Nason can be a cheap, easy way to get a good finish at affordable prices.
All the cars below where painted with the Nason Ful-base single stage 2K urethane packaged colors.

400-40 Blue metallic $154 gallon kit

400-41 Brilliant Teal metallic $186 gallon kit

400-38 Silver metallic $151 gallon kit
