Default Blue specks in Black paint?

I just waxed my car and noticed blue specks in the paint in my rear quarter panel.. I haven't noticed them on the rest of the car... I bought the car new with 47 miles and it now has 1500 miles... It is garage kept... haven't done any painting of my own. Only thing done to exterior is routine washing, waxing, detailing.

wondering where the blue specks in paint came from??? any help would be appreciated...

Factory glitch. The panel may have had to be repainted for some reason and "quality control" thought it was not bad enough to re-work. Or it was flawed from the factory and it was not noticeable enough for repairs...and seeing how you just noticed it...they must be minor.

Warranty might cover a repair. See your dealer!

After thinking about it...It may also be due to "something" getting on that panel and getting down far enough to stain teh black paint and make it look blue. I do not see what you see....so it is hard to actually say with confidence.

As for allowing a dealer to paint your car.....be careful. The reason being is that warranty work does not "pay" that well...and the painter....basically gets screwed...so the "true" amount of time to do the job "right" is not being given to the painter.....and at the percentage rate he/she is paid of the hourly rate is also a determining factor. He/she...USUALLY will not spend the amount of time to get it right...becasue they will loose $$$$.

Also...black is NOT black. GM screwed that up by adding green, blue, white and other toners in the color. So what you have is a possible "variant" of the primary color (black). Which there is NO WAY that the first Corvette in your model year that was painted black is the EXACT same color as the Corvettes painted black months later. That is why I have a "variant" paint deck...that shows all of the colors that have problems in them....and black is included. GM tries hard...but sometimes "stuff" happens.

thank you for your input... I guess there is good news.. #1 - I have looked over the rest of the car and I don't see any blue specks... so it is only in the right rear panel... I will not have anyone touch the paint... what is - IS as my grandfather would say... besides you really need to look closely to see the specks I will try to get a photo if it is possible and I will post... again I appreciate the information!

Good im glad its not anywhere else on the car. I think if you have a dealer you trust that does good work you could possibly get a good warranty call out of it.
