I just bought a fiberglass roof for my car off eBay and am pretty happy with what I paid and the condition. It does appear that in some places the gelcoat has popped off or maybe delaminated. Can I use some filler to level these spots or will I have to sand out these areas?
Also not really a Paint/Body question but how do I remove the headliner panel so I can reglue the fabric to the panel? Is it glued in place also?

Need a photo.
That type of top is not gelcoated....it is SMC. Want to help...but I need to see what you are seeing.
DUB
Your top is painted... possibly several times at this age. The "pops" are probably flaws in the paint; Dub is correct in that we need to see the damage before making suggestions for repair. Ditto the upholstery issue, although that might best be addressed on the general C4 forum. Pics Please!
Hey guys, thanks for the interest. I finally got around to snapping some picks of what I am talking about. I appreciate any input. I would love to be able to sand these spots as flat as possible and apply some body filler. I have never worked with SMC at all so I want to do it right, repaint and never worry about it again. Let me know what you think.
Does the black molding look like it has red paint on it. can not tell by the photo. If it looks like the molding was taped off...and then painted. Sometimes you can get close and see the tape line and the build up of paint and clear. The paint is popping off and would require some good sanding. This is so it can be primed and painted. Also. when I do these tops I remove the black "U" molding and re-install after it is painted and dried. This is so you can prep the top completely and not have this happen again due to not being able to prep completely to the edge of the molding...and then when it is shot. The paint film is thick and looks like crap. It only takes about two to three minutes to remove it...If you care to know. I can tell you easily how to do it without damaging the molding..
There is some overspray and I definitely want to remove the molding so I can refinish it too. What type of paint would you recommend for the trim? Can you also suggest a black paint for the inside frame work> Thanks!
