Painting Trim

This is probably a stupid question, but I can't find an answer. What should be used to paint the metal window trim and rocker trim? They'll be black. What do you recommend for primer and paint type and should they be cleared?

You will want to apply an acid etch primer...so it will "bite" into the aluminum...and then apply a satin/semigloss black paint over it.

make sure that they are stripped throughly so you do not have a reaction due to old paint still being on them.

I do not clear them. but that is your choice.

You can look at SEM or PPG products.
