Help!! My orange painted stripes have to go!!

So I just picked up this corvette a couple of days ago.... Now here's the thing.. I'm not too happy with the Color or the stripe design. I wasn't sure if the stripes were painted or just an amazing vinyl with clear coat. The guy i was purchasing the car from was 80 years old and he was having a hard time remembering whether they were paint or vinyl.. now i took it to a shop and they said that it was a single stage enamel paint. I would ultimately want to remove them completely. To remove it they told me that it would run me about $3000.. which sounds about right.. removing the bumpers, hood, and trunk sand down paint then blend... My other option is to live with the stripe design and painting the stripes a different color.. I was thinking of a ghost look.. Painting them an off white of some sort.. anyone out there can photoshop the stripes different colors for me? Maybe photoshop it in a black and different shades of gray..

I don`t know, I kind of like the look. They look professionaly done, so why not try living with it for a while before deciding to blow thousands to something that will probably net you zero dollars more for your efforts if you ever sell it. Having said that, its your car/your money

They did an amazing job with it.. but its like a mustard yellow/orange.. the more i look at at it the more it hurts my eyes.. in the pic it looks more orange. but trust me it doesn't look like that in persoon
