Default overlaping paint thickness showing

I am going to paint the 67 style stinger hood on my 65. It's going to be a black hood with rally red single stage ppg concept paint. I painted a logo on some tiptanks for an old Air Force t-33 and where the colors met where it was taped it looked awfull. How do I go about not doing this to my car hood? I plan on painting it completly black, tapping off the stinger and shooting the red. Then putting on temp pinstrip and using the space in the pinstripe to hand paint the pinstripe. Then peeling the temp pinstripping away. I have some already with the correct size space/stripe on it.

Will wetsanding and buffing take care of any buildup ridges that I have? Thanks for the input.

Originals had the paint edges showing. You can get some off by sanding and buffing but not all. Some clear over the whole thing to help.

Just make sure that you prep the black paint so the red will adhere...shooting over shiny black paint will not work well.....you may have a flaking or delamination problem if you do not prep the surface BEFORE you paint the red.
