Default Colors of Red

Well I am getting ready to paint and have decided on a red. The problem is I am not sure what shade of red to go. I was hoping that those out there that have red could show me some pictures so I can make my decesion. thanks

Colors are rather subjective. Everyone has his own favorites. Choose one that suits yourself. The best way is to ride around the dealerships or just observe the road and find one you like. Then take the year and make to the paint supplier. They should be able to find and mix it. I personally use a Honda red, code #63 I think, for the reds of the early and mid seventies. Reds do not duplicate well here on the computer screen, so what we would send is of little use.

This is a good representation of what my 1971 Mille Miglia Red looks like.

Where are you getting it painted Jay?

Default Red

I work for a Paint Manufacture, go to a paint store look at the reds. Find one you like buy a sample and have it sprayed out to get a good look at the color. Then make a decision. Hope this helps.

I went through the same thing last year before I decided to go with GM's "Super Red" (also called "Flame Red"). The paint code is 81 or 81U. I'm very happy with my decision. Remember that whatever primer color you go with will affect your topcoat color.
