You will need an adhesion promoter that is sprayed on prior to the interior paint. So whichever brand of paint you use, they will have a compatible adhesion promoter. The tech sheet will tell you what products to use for cleaning. The tech sheets usually assume you are working with new parts, so if you are painting a used part, every trace of interior protectants needs to be removed and you may need a variety of products (water soluable and solvent based) and patience to remove the tough ones like Armor All.

I just use a very liberal amount, like sopping wet, lacquer rag and wipe thoroughly. Just before you shoot wipe it down again to soften the vinyl.
