The 1936 Packard is finally together
I have been working on my 1936 Packard for a few years. I started taking it apart in 2011 so I could get some rust repair done, do some minor bodywork and make a new leather interior for it, a new top, and paint the car. The man doing the rust repair had the car for 2 years, but he did beautiful work and did not charge a lot. Shortly after I got it back from him, Anita decided to leave and we got divorced. This was in 2014. I did some more work on it, but then I started to do upholstory on a 1934 Cadillac V-16 for a friend. I had told him a few years ago I would do his car when it was ready.
It turned out the car was not ready for upholstery and we had to correct some problems before I could do the upholstery. After some problems waiting for the desired material to come in from Europe I had the car for 2 years. During that time I came down with the first of my 4 cancers. This slowed me down quite a bit as I was doing chemo for 1 1/2 years straight. And I also got married to a wonderful lady.
After the Caddy left I started working on the Packard again. With a lot of help from some friends the Packard was finally fully assembled today, with new paint, top, interior and some new chrome. All that is left is to paint the 4 wheels the car sits on and get the new tires put on the wheels. Then it will be totally done.
You can see my Corvette in the garage. I still enjoy driving it.
Pictures of before I started and now.
As I bought it in 2001.
Today. The color is called Trianon Green Metallic and is a factory 1936 Packard color.
Impressive Packard front end.

New leather interior.
Lovely wife with now departed Yorkie

Wow Keith that is truly looking pristine. I remember you showing it to me in your garage when it was all disassembled. You do exceptional work with your projects and bring them back to museum quality specimens for future aficionados to enjoy.

Looks great, Keith! Must be satisfying to see the progress you've made in looking at the before pictures.
