Well, as long as Team Corvette keeps trying to make the car better each year this will be the case. You either pull the trigger now or you re-holster and wait for next years upgrades to see if they are worth the wait.

It's called playing the new car purchase game.

Can't wait to see and drive the new ZO6 offering... Should be a beast!

Come on Fred:

Your car was never stock long enough to be considered a GM car. Just a few GM parts wrapped around a Tom Wong upgrade.

I am a lurker and I am sure there are others out there like me. I placed an order on 3/25 via Les Stanford in Detroit, GM supplier discount. Courtesy delivery scheduled to a dealer in San Bernardino. My plan is to drive up the coast on the way home. Hope to be at RTC sometime in June or perhaps early July with the new car. After 5+ weeks I am still at status 1100, but I expect movement soon, so maybe a delivery in early June. I ordered a Z51 coupe, manual, exhaust, mag ride, red calipers, std painted roof, silver painted wheels, CF dash, TR with Kalahari. I think the CF dash is on constraint, pushing my build date out....

Don't know if you are in OR or WA, but we found out if we picked it up in Cali you have to pay Cali sales tax!!! Ken finally ordered ours from Dave Smith in ID and paid NO TAX!! If you live in OR see if you can get it delivered to an OR dealer.

I originally ordered through Boardwalk in Redwood City and was going to fly down to pick it up. They were INSISTENT on my paying CA "use tax" if I drove it off the lot. Just for that attitude (yea I know I could have done a courtesy delivery through a local dealer), I looked elsewhere as Vik Toy posted above. In addition, I paid $3K below MSRP. A win-win all around

In my search for my C-6 I considered Boardwalk however that CA Tax crap was a deal breaker. I wouldn't give the state of CA a dime let alone tax on a new Corvette. So I went with Dave Smith Motors and was happy with my overall experience.

Could be, Mike. The way you change cars and colors I suspect at least 3 of them will be yours and Susies.

But the more important question is if we'll break the record this year for the number of 40th Anniversary cars that show up?

Considering the dyno readings you've produced with that car, Fred, are you really driving a great car or just aiming it.

Not really sure what to expect with the tax issue. I live in Redmond, Wa so I assume I will pay only the sales tax due to Washington, regardless of where the car is purchased or delivered. I am buying through a Detroit dealer and then courtesy delivery to California.
