from what i have seen the gauges are touch screen, thats all fine and good, but not good for longevity, i work with a touch screen computer, have since 2007, and the screen is getting burnt out, don't get me wrong on paper, i love it, just thinking "long term" with the design

Oh, please, tell me it isn't so. Even the original digital gages in the early C4 would be preferable to touch screen gages.

I've used or seen touch screen gages on the Aston-Martin Lagonda, the '82 Ferrari Mondial and some Sears ranges. Even when they do work, one still has to look at them in order to use them. Why would GM even think of doing this?

Touch screens are incredibly improved so I HIGHLY doubt they will be an issue.

I really think the reveal on 1/31/13 in Detroit will tell the story. In 2005, when the C6 came out, I swore I would never own a C6 or sell my C5. Now there are two wide body C6's in the garage.

As far as the rear end, it's just one small part of the car, and I think it will be better than the pre released images. I'm a fan.

Regarding the interior, including touch screen, if it is as cool as the Cadillac's, this car will be well recieved and Fred will have one in his man cave when the Z's are released

It makes that damn song repeat in my mind over and over.....MAKE IT STOP!!

"TRANFORMERS......MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE......"

That design, if accurate does NOT have "Corvette" written all over it.

Corvette owners are soooo crazy. We complained when the C6 wasn't a radical departure from the C5.

Then we get used to the design and fall in love with the C6.

Now we are whining because the C7 is a more radical departure from what we've had

Sorry but until the C6 I would not of bought a Vette except for a 63 if I could very afford one. If this is the C7 I will not be getting in line for one. Besides I am much more likely to be interested in the Cadillac Ciel if they build it.

I remember when the C6 first came out many of us C5 owners were talking about how bad the new Vette looked compared to our beloved C5's and how we'd never get one. I was one of those and guess what's in my garage now?

I'm sure that within 2 to 5 years most of us will be in a C7 no matter what we say now. Now excuse me while I go and admire Red Racer in the garage for a few minutes and re-polish those Corsa exhaust tips...

No whining here....I don't like the C6 either. Radical departure is fine, I just don't like the departure it took. It has angles, not lines and the rear is right out of the transformer's school of design.

I'm hoping the production model is better and hoping it looks better in real "life".

I'm not crazy......or stuck on C5 styling.....just picky.

As a "coke-bottle, steel-bumper, shark" C3 owner, I hated the C4 in `84. I owned two C4's and thought they were the best Vette yet.
As a C4 convertible owner, I hated the C5 when it came out in `97. The butt's too big, the car itself is too big, etc. Now that I own one, I think it is another classic Corvette design in a long list of classic designs.
As a C5 owner I hated the first C6. Too "chopped-off" in the rear, exposed headlights don't look right to me, front looks like a clown-smile. Now the design has definately grown on me and we have begun considering a trade up to a C6.
Moral of my story: I will probably hate the C7 when it arrives... for a short time. Eventually it will grow on me, just as every new design since 1963 has done. And let's wait until we see the real thing before passing judgement. GM's secrecy machine has been hyper-vigilant this time and I just don't believe this depiction is 100% what we will see in January.

Yeh, I really don't like it! I was hoping they would do the Transformers 2009 Stingray design. (I have a 1/24 model) The rear is kind of strange on it but much better than the C7 concept!
Love the design of my C5-Z. Hubbys C6 "is" more comfortable and with all the custom mods, it is a head turner but I still like the C5 better, although I LOVED my '62 !!!!

It will have a local touch according to this article here on CF from Car and Driver: https://www.corvetteforum.com/articl...&utm_campaign=.

Plasan Carbon Composites might be making the body panals, they have a joint venture with with SGL Carbon SE in Moses Lake and are using technolgy from Globe Machine Manufacturing Co. of Tacoma.

Here is more on them.

Pretty cool

The C6 grew on me. This one probably will too. Who knows 'till the real deal is seen.

I'm not convinced that was all your doing.

As far as the C7 is concerned, I am taking a wait and see attitude. I hope it will be awesome. I still like my Z16 a lot, so I have no plans to upgrade anyway.

That first picture looks a whole lot like a car I saw in a bank parking lot in Gig Harbor yesterday around dusk. I only saw the front and side of the car, but it was almost dead on to that pic. By the time I turned around to get a better look it was gone.

None of it was my doing

I'd still have my 2000 C5 FRC

The article in Car and Driver also states a projected, at or below $55K price tag for a base model. I can't imagine that but if it comes out that low, I will have one a month after they are available.

Not in love with the rear end. But.....I wouldn't be able to see it from the drivers seat!
I can't afford one, but would sure take it if it were given to me!

When did Nissan start designing corvettes. I can only hope the spy drawings do not do it justice.

I am not trading my '66 in for one.
