Default Dean's car back on track

Yesterday we had an event at Pacific Raceways with the PCA. Dean brought the Vette and ran it all day long! He has permagrin on his face. We talked about him having to report his findings directly. Hopefully this will tickle his mind about giving a report.

Its late so just a quick answer.

I was able to spin the rear wheels exiting T3B down the back straight in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear. Yikes!

It is so different in many ways. Clearly the bar has been moved up in handling and acceleration. I kept adjusting the suspension after each session and it kept getting better. Will be interesting to see where it ends up.

Out to the Ridge tomorrow and Sunday.

Dean

Great news! Keep an eye on the oil level and check that catch can from time to time. I am curious to see how much it will catch. Also how are the new shocks working out for you, better than the old setup? Need to know so I can give some feed back to a couple customers.

I thought Dean had a dry sump. Why the need for a catch can?

He does, there is a can on the PCV side. There is also a vent/catch bottle on te ARE drysump tank. That ARE can is bone dry, the PCV can still catches oil from the main engine PCV system.

Great to hear, sounds like a blast and successful build. Look forward to seeing it in action. I'm working on getting a different ride, sold current car. Will catch up at next event.

Maybe the stock system doesn't create as much negative pressure in the crankcase as a 4 or 5 stage system creates.

Very glad that Dean is up and running hard again!

It is basically a stock system, because it uses the internal GM pump that has been modified by katech. So in essence the design is basically the stock GM design but much improved with the additional ARE tank, ARE oil pan and the large capacity Setrab oil cooler.

Dean burned a lot of oil on Friday and then by Sunday had washed the car and ran real well and did not burn any oil and did not loose any precious bodily fluids. Car sounds great and is fast!

That's great to hear but even better to see. Video by chance?
