My Bronco
My Bronco has joined the computer age. I picked up a 1987 Mustang engine, rebuilt it and installed it in my Bronco with all the EFI stuff and computer. I converted it to MAF from speed density and it runs beautifully. Initially I thought this would be a really tough job but with a few months of studying and rounding up all the right parts it actually went pretty easy. After wiring it all up it started immediately and runs fantastic. The only codes it's throwing are egr related which I had deleted during the install. I also rebuilt some GT40 heads and installed a GT40 intake setup. Rebuilt some old injectors and installed 1996 Explorer serp belt system. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. It's a Ford but I fabbed up some 1 ton chevy steering linkage and reamed out the knuckles. The thing drive like a champ now. Did all the work in my little shop. It's a frankstien but it looks as good as it runs. My next project will be installing a taurus electric fan.
I haven't forgotten about all my old corvette buddies and still miss having one, but my appetite for restoring and building cars has never wained.

Very cool update to a cool rig. I always liked those early Broncos.

Burning Brakes
Your Bronco brings back a lot of memories for me. 30 years ago I had a 1972 the same color as yours. I pulled the 302 and installed a 425 Oldsmobile engine in it. That made it quite the stump puller. However, I don't miss the 11 mpg that it got with the Olds in it. Your ride looks good.

Well I couldn't leave it alone, so I'm now building 408 EFI stroker from '95 roller block. All forged internals, comp extreme cam, trick flow 185 CNC heads, GT40 351 intake and Moates quarter horse tuner. The block is up at Paolo and the parts are arriving daily. You can take the boy out of the corvette but you'll never take the need for speed out the boy. I'll post some pics as this build develops. Probably be making a visit to Mr. Wong's place for a tune when it's done. 6.7 liters in a '74 Bronco. What could be more fun?
