November 29 is the Kick-off of the Marine Corps Reserve's 2009 Toys for Tots campaign. On that day they will be in the parking lot of ShopKo on Coburg Road from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are told it will be similar to last year: many groups have been invited to participate; come and stay as long as you are able; and they are collecting new, unwrapped toys.
last year was a huge success, that the marines have invited the corvettes back again this year. i know there were a few from the forum that showed up, and brought donations for the US marines. last year they had the eugene police, oregon state troopers, fire department, the marines... they also offered rides in fire trucks, and police cars, and they also had the oregon duck cheerleaders
Robert,
What time are you guys planning on going down there? I am trying to figure out a way that I can at least make a showing, and drop off the toys (before I have to go to work) like I did last year.

Looks like the weather may possibly hold this weekend. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year as I will be on a plane on my way to the Philippines that morning.
Hey Laura, there are a toy drives Dec 5(Saturday) at Stayton Fire Dept and one at Pacific Raceways in Kent,WA
Thanks for the heads up Viki, but I still cant do it as the new job requires that I work each weekend, and for some reason isnt allowing me to reschedule at this point to allow me a weekend day off.
It is our busiest time of year, perfectly understandable from their point of view, but I have come up with another idea that I am going to look into.
Too bad we dont have any of these events on anything but weekends, I could do it in a heartbeat.
