Because of the hard economic times and no sponsorships, the NWCCA is canceling the 2009 Car Show & Swap Meet on October 10th & 11th 2009. If you have any questions, comments or suggestions you can contact Mike Bostwick at 503-245-5444 or email at reb.mlb@netzero.net
Quite possibly so, but I think we're going to see fewer of these meets as people with parts for sale can more easily use E-Bay. No hauling of truckloads of parts to Monroe or Portland, no fees, no packing up of the stuff you didn't sell...
I think there will always be swap meets. The social interaction can't be over looked, but if I want to sell something - even an entire car - E-bay just seems so much easier and the audience, unquestionably, is much larger.

Very true - the on line auctions certainly have taken a bite out of the traditional swap meet over the past few years. And no doubt that was a contributing factor in the cancellation of the NWCCA meet, but it was surprising to see a large event like this canceled.
E-bay is not what's causing this too many fees, one word........ Craigslist. It will cause the end of AutoTrader mags, most the swapmeets will feel it and only the strong well run ones will survive.
