Default Moving to the Pacific Northwest

A week and counting until I make the move. Relocation to Redmond, Washington. I thank everyone for their input on areas to look for a home. We have decided on Redmond for now but plan to do allot of exploring with the help of all our corvette brothers and sisters out in the Seattle area. I look forward to meeting you all.

Congratulations on the move. We have had an exceptional summer with great weather which will probably end about the time you get here.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Unfortunately, you're moving at the worst time of year... just in time for 6 months of 75% cloudy days.

Have a good move! Welcome to the area!

I am ready for the clouds and rain. I just don't know how much of it I am ready for. I will watch the forum for Corvette happenings and meet everyone. Unlike most of the Southern Californians I don't mind driving my Corvette in the rain. Good thing eh.

Welcome! I drive in the rain as well (got the special rain package on mine, even included wipers) I also live in the Redmond myself!

Default Good Luck! - There Are Some Great People Here in The Northwest..

but you will have to get used to 6-7 months of wet, cold weather. And don't be surprised if you take your nicely polished Corvette to a spring or early summer car show and find out the rain is pouring much of the day.

The last couple weeks have actually been decent weather. The temps here hit 68 and it looks like there will be sun up through this coming Sunday. After that, there will be some chance of rain next week but the temps won't be too cool. October can be a very nice time of year and right now there is lots of color from the leaves of different trees.

If you want to keep an eye on the weather in the Puget Sound area, you can check out these local TV station websites:
KOMO TV Channel 4 the ABC affiliate
KIRO TV Channel 7 the CBS affiliate (worth watching Rebecca )
KING TV Channel 5 the NBC affiliate

When I back mine out of the garage in the rain the engine dies and will only restart if I put it in any forward gear back into the garage, Weird huh! What are these windshield wipers you speak of??

Welcome to the beautifully green PNW. Of course, it's green from all the precipitation. My car is a daily driver and it handles quite well in the rain (so long as you moderate your go-peddle usage). Unlike some garage queens, my car gets upset if I don't drive her frequently.

Looking forward to meeting you at one of our get-togethers.

Welcome our area, while we do complain about the rain, we do have pretty nice summers here with rather mild temps with a usual week or so of high temps. It seems to be a pattern for the last few years, mild temps for the most part and then momma nature decides she needs to roast us for a few days with triple digit temps. Otherwise, the people here are great and we have an abundance of things to do for just about and kind of hobby, be you outdoorsy or indoorsy types.

Welcome to the NW. As they say "we don't tan we rust" I came here from the Long Beach, CA area by way of 10yrs in Maui. Really hard to get used to the short summers, but it is so beautiful here it "almost" makes up for it. We are suppose to have a warmer than usual winter, so maybe you will be introduced slowly. Last year we had lots of snow (we live between Salem&Portland. We went on the Bowling Green Caravan & came back thru Montana,SD, ND. Went on a one day tour along the Columbia Gorge two weeks ago and I think Oregon and Washington are prettier than any of the states we went thru.
ENJOY!!!
