Two photos of a new ZR-1 at the Cruise-in.

I watched the Trans Am race from the festival curves. The blue Corvette spun twice in the braking zone on the front straight. Nobody can accuse him of not trying hard!
I was suprised to see the Jags were powered by Ford engines. I think they were big blocks. Same with the Corvette (except Chevy big block). The cars looked like NASCAR vehicles re-bodied. They sounded great and the speed was great.

Here is the final set of photos from Day 2.
This first one is of a young man who became a quadraplegic at approx. 16. He drove the entire course with his head and teeth directing a joystick device. It was his dream to drive a car at PIR and he finally got to do it. Pretty neat.
Someone asked about the winning car. This is it.
This was a photo of the van belonging to a Porsche owner who passed away earlier this year. Friends and family drove the track in the reverse direction.
Various race photos
Here it looks like they're five wide!!
Small mistake.
At this point the John Deere was clearly in the lead....but going the wrong direction.
That's it for this year's Rose Cup Races.

Wud......thanks for a GREAT variety of pictures and mini-stories. Looks like a great time. My PIR days were back in the 80's but so glad to to see the track "spiffed" up and the Trans Am folks there.
It's a great venue....glad it's still alive and KICKIN!!
