Screamin' Lizard Race Report

Hey Todd,
I was in the blue #491 STi. Man! How much freakin fun was that!?
I knew you were coming for me the whole race, but I kept getting lucky with the lap traffic. I get a lap car in front of me on the straights that I could blow right by, then you would have to follow them through the corners.
I was shocked when I pulled in and my crew said that I led for 11 laps!
I knew you were going to be able to dominate me on the straights and that I didn't have a chance. SO I sure as hell was going to try to stay in front of you through the corners.
Good times. I'll have to watch your video when I get home tonight. I wanted to come over and chat with you Saturday night, but I was just too pumped up on adrenaline Then you were gone on Sunday by the time I got there
Are you going to be at Pacific this weekend?
Check out the Conference forums too, there are a few of us novices in there.

You and your car are pretty darn quick in the corners. (And not slow in the straights either. ) It was definately a challenge getting through traffic to finally catch you!
We hung around for a bit on Saturday, but my "crew" wanted to get pizza and celebrate. (Particularly since I was buying. )
I did work the grid on Sunday afternoon to get a work requirement done.
My wife and I both drive the car, so this year I am doing the novice program and she is doing Autocross. Next year, when I move up, she will do the novice program. This Saturday she is doing autocross so I won't be at Pacific.
I'll look for you at the next race in June!
Good job during the race!

What class will you be running after you upgrade to an area license?

I'll eventually be running ITE and SPO.
BTW, I did make a post over on the ICSCC forum.

Wow! Very exciting and looks like so much fun! I'm envious. Very well done, the car looks great. Congratulations! Best of luck in upcoming events.

Nice work!
So glad that we could help you get the car together and on the track. Always a pleasure seeing the cars get put to the test!
As always, call me if you need any help at all!

You technical assistance and general support has been invaluable. Not to mention the LG products that are installed in many places on the car. (Radiator / oil cooler, silicone hoses, headers, coil-overs...)

OOOO I'll take that challenge!
Damnit why does everyone run ITE Guess its time to install the bigger turbo that has been sitting on the workbench for a couple of months.
See you at PIR in June (assuming all goes well this weekend)!

Had a good time on friday with you guys
Wish I could of been their to watch on Sat. but had to work.
Maybe I'll have to get roll cage installed and try real raceing instead of HPDEs
Great writeup! Congratulations on the win!!

Racing isn't for everyone, but, if you are into adrenaline, it is DEFINATELY more of a rush than even an HPDE.
See you soon!

My best lap during the race was 1:19.64.
I'm happy that I improved, but also that the group 4 times, (the run group that I will eventually be in) ranged from 1:09 (for a full tube frame GT-1 Corvette) to 1:23. So it is definately a group that I will eventually be competitive in.

Not bad for a cold track.
More stick time and you'll be right up there.
I think the fast ITE time for SCCA is in the 1:22s with the chicane.
Run by Nick Fluge in his C6Z.

Duke Goss's ITE Bimmer should be capable of a 1:20 or faster with the chicane. He was running 1:14's without the chicane before he had engine problems in April (translates to a 1:19-1:21 with the chicane). At Pacific he walked away from the ITE group... ran a 1:29 fast lap (faster than some GT-1 cars).
So group 4 (or group C for SCCA) keeps getting faster.
We both have some work to do!
See ya in a couple of weeks.
