Where is that stop where the pic labeled "The Observatory" by Oh 2 Fun is taken? I've never stopped there before. Also, is that USFS station open to the public? Are there rest rooms and info for the public there? It's a beautiful structure but I have never stopped there since I thought it was just for official business. Cool pics folks! Jon

Pretty sure its the 242 highway, from 126 to Sisters. Sorry I missed out on what was a great time. Next time I won't stay out so late..(Or drink so much?)

Yup, I believe you are right...great drive if nobody is in front of you. The lava beds are vast and amazing. Hey, I was up late drinking before going on this cruise too....ha...no excuses!!

Plus, I hooked up with my very good friend Suzan in Sisters and left LaPine State Park at 9:00 pm to drive back to Beaverton. Took 3 hours and 25 minutes exactly to reach my driveway and had to get up and be to work my noon. Didn't help that a cop followed me for many miles when I left Hwy 97 getting onto 26.

Suzan will have more great pics to share here when she gets back.

Again, great group of folks....really enjoyed the company.

I know, I called Patrick at 8:00 to tell him we were not going to make it and by 11am I was kicking myself..(I need to sign up for depussification 101) Enjoying the pictures folks, looks like a good time.
It is a very pretty drive around the middle of October, with the leaves turning. Maybe someone will put together another cruise before the rains come.

Thanks Curvette!!! I knew you would take some great shots! I was right.....and that doesn't happen often as you know

(edit for clarity: It's not often that I'm right)
