Default Managed to find some sun today (pics)

Took a gamble today and it paid off, I found some sun and three other Vettes in west Seattle, Happy to report the wave is alive and well..

Very nice photos! It looks like we both like to use the same parking lot on nice days. Here's one I took about a month ago right after buying the car.



My avatar picture is from the same location, facing the opposite direction.

I like the way your pictures turned out much better than mine.

We had a great day, it was over too fast. right now I am looking out on 3" of snow and it is still coming down??? what happened I will keep my eyes open for you next time I get over there. That is a great spot for photos.

Can you give any tips on how you took those photos? The colors on the first two photos look amazing.

I use a Nikon D200, these were taken with an 18-200mm zoom, digital cameras have a hard time with getting good detail in the sky in high contrast situations, much worse than film cameras. I have several Cokin grauated filters, thsee were taken using a P121 filter, it has a grey tone on top that you can slide up or down to increase the amount of color you want to add. Its real simple but really adds alot.

Is that the same as the grey graduated neutral density filter? Nice effect More pronounced than using a polarizer.

It has a little more color (grey) to it than the neutral density, I have that one too, I go back and forth between the two.
