Would like to here from the group, what exhaust most of you are running, I'm looking at the B&B Bullet, like the sound of it and ,The loud mouth Exhaust sounds good ,But my concern is there any drown inside the car with these 104dp pipes , Looking for something that speak's with authority but is comfortable, ANY Help would be appreciated!
Sam, i just put Bullets on my 03 z and i think they are great! Yes they are loud but, this is how a corvette should sound. There is a drown , but you can keep it to a minimum with shifting, unless you have an auto. Freeway cruising i don't really hear much (6th gear). 1-4 is a monster. Good luck!
I just installed Corsa Extremes. Great sound and no real drone at all.
Where are you from? (Nothing in your profile) I'm sure folks on the forum close to you would be happy to meet up and let you listen to the various setups. I would if you're close to Vancouver/Portland area.

I have a Corsa Indy Pace Car system on my 02 supercharged coupe. They are definitely throaty under hard acceleration but at cruise in either 5th or 6th gear, they are very quiet with no interior noise or resonance. But hammer on the throttle and they really wake up.
I have heard the Borla Stinger system with dual tips and that is another system that is very loud under acceleration but not too bad while cruising.
Try to listen to a variety of systems. Some of the companies have sound clips on their websites but to really get a feel (or earful ) for a system, you have to listen to it in person. Of course how you drive will make a difference in the overall sound bot outside and inside the car.
When I bought my 92 'vert back in '97, I installed a set of the original B&B Tri-Flows and I got a lot of interior resonance even with the top down. At 60MPH on I-5, the resonance was pretty bad. Only when I got to 70+ or had the hardtop installed, did the resonance drop off.
Had I got a chance to listen to the other systems available at the time, I probably would not have bought them.
As mentioned, fill put your profile (city/state) and you might get some members in your area to let you listen to their systems.
I had a Corsa Pace car and really liked it with an X pipe. Then I put on long tube headers and the Corsa's were loud enough to probably break windows. So then I put on the stock Z06 exhaust with the long tubes and now really like the mellow and agressive sound. I did put in a cam which helps a lot. But on a stock car I really liked the Corsa's Nice quiet sound until you got a cramp in your right foot )

The C5 Ti system was probably one of the best factory exhaust systems ever engineered both for a compromise in performance as compared to a aftermarket system and yet very quiet!
A Corsa system is excellent but as many will tell you it rapidly becomes a cop magnet when exercised at WOT It does have a high degree of effect on controlling interior resonance. You will find that the more agressive borla and BB Bullet type systems will offer interior resonance at that critical RPM range between 1200 and 1800 RPM, and is even worse if you have a A4 or A6 automatic transmission. Corsa offers a customized system aimed specifically for the automatics.

Any emissions problems with the long tubes?

Sam, you can drive my car and see how the Corsas are. I love the sound of the Borlas, but the Corsas are a close second and they don't drone like the Borlas. After my S2000 I can't live with droning anymore.
PS
Wake Joe up, we miss him.
Just put SLP LM on my 03. Very loud at WOT. cruising isn't too bad but there is a little drone. Hit the throttle and it sounds like the meanest thing you have ever heard.
Walter I installed a complete Z system into a 07 coupe last year. It was a customers car that I installed a head and cam package, in installed it so that the system operated off the engines vacuum system with a console mounted switch so that he could open the valves at will. It worked out great and made great power with the very mild camshaft.

A few weeks ago had a set of B&B Fusion installed. Enjoy them very much, the reason being you have best of both worlds. Had the switch installed in order to hear the sound at any given time. When the switch is on it does give some drone inside the car but when switch is off it is pleasant sounding inside the car. Just one minor thing, when the system was installed the tips hang quite low, the muffler shop was able to do some great modification to bring the tips up to a respectable height.
The overall sound is awesome & I wouldn't have it any other way. Hope this clarifies any questions you might have. I also had the X-pipe installed to prevent the berble & popping noise.
Now I have a set of original muffler system with "H" pipe for an "08" Z06for sale. If anyone is interested, please let me know.

That's interesting...I went outta my way to introduce the the burble and popping sounds...and couldn't be happier with the result. Others have said they like it....but I think most prefer the deeper B&B type sound.
To each their own...gotta do what makes you happy Sam.
No one has said Borla yet? I LOVE mine. I have the aggressive version and I am with 03ZO6guy ...the louder the better...Just love it when I shift down and hear the popping noise....I have an auto and drive it like a MT. You get used to the loudness and at a certain rpm it is very smooth. If you want something that goes loud and then you can quiet it down, Maui has a great system. I considered all you are talking about here but when I rode in one and drove one with the Borla I fell...hard. Get out and really listen to them before you decide or you might be disappointed.
I have the NPP (dual mode) exhaust option on my '08 coupe but am not sure if that is available as an after market install. With the M2W switch, I can have the valves open for my daily driving but make the exhaust quiet when my wife rides with me.
After Tom installed ARHeaders and hi-flow cats, the car is easily twice as loud as before the header install . Get on it hard and it screams although there is a definite drone from about 1,400 - 1,700 RPM. On long road trips, switch back to mild and there's no drone and you can have a normal conversation. Best of both worlds.
