FYI there is a new photo radar unit located at the intersection of SE 102/ Washington (eastbound) near the US BANK.
Also, there is regular photo speed enforcement on SE Division between
110th and 109th
it is a white unmarked van with speed displayed in the back door and a flash setup at least 3 days a week over last few months
I drive I-5 from Salem to Woodburn every day to work, and have seen 3 vehicles pulled over by unmarked cars in less then a month....2 white mustangs, and one black dodge charger, so beware of these as well!
Saw one pull a good one the other day, a marked car, I was over the speed limit, but not enough that he could pull me over and make it stick.
Anyway, he sped past me, pulled in front of me, then a car flew by him, he waited til it passed him, then eased right in behind it and pulled him over!

keep your eyes peeled
Yes, I have seen the van on Division there on and off for some time now. The bad thing is that my V1 does not pick this van up, I am not sure what technology that it is using for speed detection. It is also manned, I feel like stopping and asking how the damn thing works Do you think he would tell me?

o veeeerrry interesting,!
its not easy to defeat a V1... I d think you could ask him. he is usually sitting in the drivers seat, many times with a clipboard...

That's odd - I have two speed guns on the way to work - just the kind that display your speed - no tickets involved. My V1 picks up one, but not the other. My Escort goes off for both though (at a shorter distance than the V1). It would be nice to know if there's many radar guns in use up here that the V1 doesn't pick up.
I heard back east of them using timing triggers in a similar layout like the drag strips use. The emitter has a reflector set up in the median. You break the beams of a timing trap, and if you are over the speed limit you get your picture taken. I'll see if I can find the website.
Yet another reason to stay out of Moscow on the Willamette!
(the reasons just keep on comin'. Just wait until Sam Adams is Mayor and outlaws your Vette!)
In that vein, I saw on the Tuesday morning news that the city of Portland is now installing "bike boxes" at more than a dozen intersections. These boxes are where bicycles can sit in the line of traffic at a light until it turns green. And, cars may not enter this box to make a "right on red".
Even if you are like me and almost always have your radar detector on, it can't hurt to review this and make mental notes of the often used locations.........
