Honest question here - not any kind of attack against anybody or anything like that, but I've just gotta ask. Why do people put anything over their tail lights that intentionally reduces their effectiveness - especially the brake lights? It's bad enough when the guys with the SUV's do it, but to do so on a car that can stop quicker than most vehicles on the road - well, it just strikes me as being kinda Personally, I do the opposite - I replace my tail light/brake light bulbs with ones of higher candlepower as a means of increasing the effectiveness of my lights.

Hi there...everyone is entitled to their opinion but for what mine is worth here I was really surprised how little the blackouts affect the brightness of the lights, when they are on or when braking. I was a little concerned about that too so I can see your point. Just now trying to avoid getting a LEO on my rear.

Hey Janelle, I know it was already mentioned, but this is what I do when I want to post the actual picture (or pictures) in a thread like this.

1.) I go to the Photobucket page that has the pictures I want to post, ..... then I "Left Click" on the [IMG] Address below the picture. (it's the one at the very bottom) As soon as you do that, it will turn Blue and will say: COPIED (in yellow)

2.) If you want to post more than just that one picture, write down the numbers that are below each picture. (ie. Seatcovers-03, Seatcovers-07, Seatcovers-10,...ect)

3.) Go to the forum in which you want to post the pictures, and either start a new thread, or click "Reply to post" in someone else's thread. After typing out what you want to say, hit the "ENTER" button twice (which will bring you down a few lines) and then "Right Click" on your mouse. When the box comes up, left click on "PASTE" and it will attach the [IMG] address of your picture. (If you only have the one picture, then you're done)

4.) If you have more than one picture to post, hit the "ENTER" button two more times to bring you down a few more lines, then "Right Click" again, and left click on "PASTE". (This will attach the same address you just posted) What you do then is,.....delete the number at the end of the address, and change it to the next one. (ie...delete -01) and type -03 in it's place. It will be the numbers just before the: .jpg[/IMG] at the end of the address.

EXAMPLE: (I'm removing the first [IMG] so that it doesn't actually post my pictures. But look how I've changed the last number(s) to display a different picture)

http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q279/str8upchevy/1980C3Seatcovers-3.jpg[/IMG]

http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q279/str8upchevy/1980C3Seatcovers-6.jpg[/IMG]

http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q279/str8upchevy/1980C3Seatcovers-10.jpg[/IMG]

5.) After you finish this process, simply click the "Submit Reply" button below as you would with any other post. It's easiest if you start out with just one picture at a time.......but I thought I would go ahead and post the "mutiple picture instructions" to come back to if you forget.

If this is too confusing to understand, or you have any other questions, send me a PM or email and I'll try to help walk you through it.

Arch

Also dangerous for other people driving behind you. They can't see your brake lights.

Good blackouts only minimally reduce the amount of light coming out.

In this case, I would argue that the sudden red light in an otherwise black field would be more effective than were the lights left not blacked out.

I'm jealous of the stainless filler panel. I've yet to see one for a C5 that looks as nice to me.
