Default Headers install

I have some headers on the way.Has anyone done these themself at home? How hard are they to put on? I only have 2 jack stands and a floor jack, will I need to get the car higher then that? Will this take longer than half a day? Or should I just take it to Tom.

How high you need the car depends a little bit on the type/length of the headers from what I hear, but I'm pretty sure you can get the car high enough with just jack stands or barely high enough. Personally I would get a couple more jack stands and you may need ramps in order to get all four tires off the ground because of the lifting points. I've never lifted all four tires off the ground with out ramps.

Do a search in the C5 forums on "header installation" and you will find detailed write-ups on the process. I would also suggest having a buddy help as it will make the install easier.

Here's a sample of many install dyi's

There is a lift in my shop, that might make the job easier. You're welcome to use it if you feel so inclined.

I hate scooting under cars on my back!

I would certainly take up this offer. I have a long tube on the way to and it will go much easier standing up instead of laying on your back. There is a lot of reaching to do. good luck.
