Custom Paint for new C6 ....Who/Where in NW is THE BEST at painting a Vette?!?
I am not too keen on the color selection of the 08 C6's. If a guy wanted to spend the $$$ to have a complete color change to his new C6, WHO/WHERE in the Northwest is the BEST paintshop KNOWN to have the BEST skill and REPUTATION at painting and color changes to a Vette?!?
I know a shop that does good work over in Portland OR. I had a carbon fiber hood for them to paint, and they did an excellent job in matching the color. They took the front nose off, and paint the fenders along with it so the paint in between the seems was flawless too. I even had them mask and clear coat the exposed carbon fiber under the hood that isn't gel coated. They aren't cheap, but you get what you pay for. They also do a lot of corvettes. They had a brand new Z06 there they was gutting out to make a race car. I can look up the name if you are interested.

THANKYOU!!!! YES, I am interested!
Next summer, I am pulling the trigger on an '08 C6 Z51, and want to have it painted a "Candy unltra-fine metallic Black-Cherry" with 3 or 4 top coats of clear. Example: I want the car to look almost black from 100 yards away ..but within 100 yards, the closer you get to the car, the more a person realizes "hey that car ain't black at all, it's the color of a ripe Bing Cherry!"
Corvette of Auburn
Or Bernies Custom paint in Olympia
Bernies deals alot with Corvette & high performance (next door to them)
They also did a great job handling my husbands Z28 when we took it in to the shop on 9/11/01 knowing he was military as well. Bernie himself owns corvettes & loves messing with them. But if you go in there you dont talk to Bernie you talk to his brother Russ (who is the manager of the place)
You didn't say how much time you are willing to let a good painter have your car but you should expect a color change and show-car quality paint to take some time and that could be months.
Bernie's Custom Paint down here in Olympia does good work but they don't do as much custom stuff as they did years ago. Used to be around the Olympia area, if you had a job done at Bernie's, you got one of the best paint jobs around, especially if Bernie shot the paint.
Another excellent place to consider is Classy Chassis at Summit Lake (about 5 miles west of Olympia on SR-8 going toward Aberdeen) Butch Kingery has turned out some absolutely fantastic Corvettes, street rods and customs over the years. But don't expect a two week turnaround
Quality show car level work requires time and effort. You will pay a bunch for that level at just about any high-end paint shop. The key is to ask to see completed cars and ask the customers if they are satisfied with the results.
Jerry's Custom Paint. "Always takes longer and costs more" is the quote a friend of mine gave me.
He did a nice job matching paint on my NCRS Top Flight 1967 Big Block, but I had to take it back to him once because there were "drip marks" of too much paint.
Another guy had Jerry paint part of his '64 convertible, and it was screwed up from a color matching standpoint that he (the car owner) had to shell out the $$$ to repaint the entire car.
Talk to DB (Darrell) Custom Paint in Newberg. 503-554-1747. He did my black 2000 coupe and did an excellent job matching the black. Twice. I also saw a '67 big block he did that turned out awesome. I'm sure he could get your car looking the way you want.
